Wow
That went right over my head when I was reading. Everything makes a lot more sense now.
You didn't pick it up when one of his "daughters" called the northerners "kneelers"?

I thought Melisandre nearly spelled it out at one point. Something along the lines of Mance being sent south with six spear wives. It isn't a whole lot to guess who that is.

Yes, it was really obvious. I facepalmed hard, cuz it took me longer to get it than it should have What is not obvious, what about that letter, allegedly from Ramsay. Im liking the idea from last page, it being sent by Mance somehow to push Jon into action

Followed by the Uncle Tywin scenes, tyrion scenes, syrio scenes.. aww hell, all of it.
Ah thanks, i've been thinking about this scene recently. I think this is one of the best examples to show how different the tv Littlefinger is from the book Littlefinger.
I think its an example of the television series bludgeoning alot of exposition into a single scene. Littlefinger now has great reason to want to cause Cersei immense suffering.
In the book and the show he didn't need to want to cause her suffering. He was just moving along with his own plans and contributing to the general political chaos in which he thrives so well. His involvement with getting Joff killed was a freebie for him.

According to This, GRRM wants to have it finished much faster than AFFC and ADWD (which took about five years each). But knowing Martin-time, it likely will get delayed.

It will probably be released when The TV series is on A Feast for Crows.

Assuming the first and second halves of ACOC in the TV series will finish by at least 2014, it might time well with AFFC TV and the novel version of TWOW.
It pains me to watch that Cersei & LF scene. LF is much more subtle than as to be so overt to cause an open confrontation. TV LF seems like a totally different character but I guess subtlety doesn't make good television. And I never really see LF as someone who wants to cause suffering. If some get hurt along the way, it's just business and nothing personal.

nah, it is personal, but as he says in the first season he learned he cannot win in open confrontation, so he works from the background. Sure, that scene looks cool, and satisfies the @letstalkaboutpowereveryepisode concept of season 2, but goes completly against the book character, and even against the character shown in Season 1
Holy fucking hell. I just sort of reached the end of the latest book and I'm getting pretty annoyed with Martin. Halfway through book 3 I started skipping over the characters that bored me (namely Daenerys, Cercei and the whole Tyrrell/Dorne conspiracies). Halfway through book 4 all my favorite characters were either dead or mia and it turns out Dany will be central to the series. Ooook. So I made it through book 5 which was completely filled with characters I couldn't care less about, And now that the whole Night watch story has gotten interesting he fucking kills off Jon. So pissed right now.

you missed out then, the only good Dany chapters are in book 3. The Dorne stuff is great, and you read the Cersei chapters in order to appreciate what a fuck up she is, it's all good.
Jon obviously isn't dead, he's going to be revived one way or the other - read the Azor Ahai theory, it fits prefectly

who skips chapters then complains about the book, wtf

If you are skipping chapters, the series just might not be for you. The whole point of the different stories is the weaving of the plot lines into one coherent story, and if you miss out on the Daeny, Cersei and Dorne stories, you are basically missing out on half the story. And for Jon, he cannot be dead, GRRM has too much invested into Jon to kill him off like that, and he is a candidate for Azor Ahai, a foreshadowed hero.

Dany's chapters is aSoS are her best, Cersei and Tyrell/Dorne plots are both in AFfC. You're so clueless that you don't even get the books right

The scene itself was good, and as a Cersei scene it is great. The ridiculousness of the simon says act is perfect for almost-childish-when-she-is-angry Cersei and the lack of a grasp on what makes power fits her perfectly. Closing with the urchin to make it clear that Varys "won" this confrontation was a nice touch too.
As Geo said it just makes no sense for Littlefinger and it isn't even a book vs. show thing. It disagrees with his previous portrayal in the show even. Oh well, in scenes since he seemed to be back on his usual. It is a slip but in the grand scheme of things I forgive it easily. I think there are bigger things to worry about the show doing 'wrong', all while at the end of the day they are doing pretty well.
