The demon world is not a single plane but just lower planes in the vast multiplane universe (in mythology). Strong entities can traverse the planes and the demon world is made out of numerous planes that connect to other human worlds.
Dark continent in my theory would be the larger continent where the gateways to the demon world exist, which would explain why the dark continent's denizens are considered very strong. The chimeras that come from the dark continent aren't considered to be strong where they come from (minus the king who is the pinnacle of their evolutionary species) , so there's only a few ways to explain the huge power gaps between dark continent and the known continent.
It's going to be really hard explaining the power gaps between the humans and the denizens of the dark continent without going into the supernatural. It's already hinted that the top tier humans are barely strong enough for the dark continent and anything that suprasses them greatly are either aliens/demons.
I don't believe that Don=Yusuke, but it would be great if the author paid homage to his old manga since it would in no way negatively impact hunterxhunter. A being that's several hundred years isn't just a long lived human (netero was 110) , his physically immortal. Since Don is still exploring the dark continent, it's pretty much assumed he's more than physically capable of doing so suggesting that his age had very little impact on his physical prowess.
Leorio and Kurapika are at least two tiers below Gon+killua currently, it's not like the York shin arc where the power gaps wasn't so large. Remember Gon and Killua are just below Hisoka in strength currently, there's no way Leorio or Kurapika would last vs Hisoka for more than a few seconds if he was serious.
I'm more interested in the Phantom Troupe since it's obvious they will visit the darkworld and powerup accordingly. Luckily for us the Phantom Troupe aren't your typical shonen villains who display the same strength as they did at the start while everyone else powersup. Phantom Troupe to remain relevant to the story have to have Gon+killua rest so they can power up, otherwise they'd be the buggy the clown type of threat. Gon and Killua currently would be mid tier Phantom Troupe tier. (Remember Killua's younger brother is considered low tier Phantom Troupe)

not really, they marched alrge numbers of regular people who got ahnihalated but Netero could probably take out the same amount of people by himself even easier, the reinforcement dude Kurapkia killed was at the point where human weaponry was useless against him

Kurapika was on the same level as the spiders back at york shin, he traded blows well and took the strongest hit from there (physically) strongest member so even ignoring his chain jail hed be able to match them in a fight
also dont get where your pulling that Gona dn Killua are just below Hisoka in strength either i think your underestimating Hisoka

Oh come on, crossover with yuyu hakusho would just be silly. Besides, the manga ended like decades ago. There's nothing it has to do with hunterxhunter and I sincerely hope it stays so. There are no aliens or demons in hunterxhunter. If an especially strong being arrives, it's from the dark continent where its normal to be that strong.
Killua has been #1 in ALL character popularity polls made in HxH. While it's possible he's out chillin' with alluka, I find it more likely he'll eventually at least come to dark continent. Kurapika doesnt need a powerup if he goes red eyes mode. Leorio is weak, but thats why he can very well become a top tier medic hunter anyway

this dark continent arc will be no or soooooo less of GON and KILLUA... its time for LEORIO to shine... he needs to show us why he was highly ranked by netero against kurapika and killua... we might as well be amazed ang gain more respect on him

If I understand correctly basically gon has reverted to how he was prior to the start of his nen training?

gon on vege state?! (nen)

Hmm... at present, yes. If the translation is correct though, Gon needs to "trade" more in order to obtain nen again. Maybe a type of life pact ala Kurapika with his chains to the max skillz.
That's a maybe..... Or we would have the grandest timeskip for Gon to finish his studies and Ging coming back from the new continent and we see our characters all matured and we either advanced to story from there with flashbacks via storytelling with each other (as Gon-Killua and Kurapika-leorio are not together) - maybe?
From what is being expressed, it seems more doubtful that Gon will really join ging in the journey to the new continent. It just feels like I should be expecting a time skip of somesort to age both Gon and Killua and to aid maturing of powers of Kurapika and Leorio.

Well, how about Gon being only able to use nen as a defensive ability instead of offensive ability?
I believe it satisfies some form of sacrifice which is not similar to how he used nen before.
Also, it is hinting that he could use nen again, but to what extent is unknown. What if that means we will see Gon with only 25 to 50% of what he could output before only in future arcs? He could technically use nen but no longer on par with the likes of Killua and especially far from what Hisoka can do.
So maybe we will need to see a smarter Gon who can use nen more efficiently and effectively and is no more an explosive type fighter?
Again, it is a maybe. It woouldn't make sense for Gon to permanently stay in his current state from a storytelling standpoint so something would have to give. I do wonder how the author will approach this dilemma.
I just don't want it to be a Nanika deal where Gon or Killua wishes for Gon's nen back. Kind of a cop out because defeatsthe need for any character development

the question is if the price paid was "never use Nen ever again" or "lose all current nen ability" if its the first one then gon is no longer in the comic, if its the second then he can simply relearn it
seems like Gin thinks its the second since he told Gon to figure out what he wants to do

seems like Gin thinks its the second since he told Gon to figure out what he wants to do "He's prepared to never use nen again." - according to english sub on the anime so how does that imply? sure gon can use nen... it would be ridiculous he couldn't...

On another forum someone said he feels Gon is just subconsciously afraid to use Nen after everything that happened, which is why he "can't" use it at the moment.
I tend to agree.
His Nen is strongly based on emotions so it makes sense.

His Nen is strongly based on emotions so it makes sense. i dont get why hed be afraid to use nen now i think if its anything like that it would be that since hes found gin he doesnt need his nen so hes too confused to used it and needs to figure out what he wants to do before using it again

So okay, i've read the chapter this afternoon. I found it interesting to say the least. But after a few glasses of wine and feeling a good buzz, i'd just like to say: Hunter x Hunter is such a good manga, that even though i don't understand a lot of it after each chapter, i find it so good, there's just nothing to complain about or give my 2 cnts about. I just want to wait till next chapter and i trust the author that it'll be alright.
And this is all a complete 180 compared to Bleach.

Ugh I feel like I shouldnt have looked at the manga, it looks so bad artwise compared to the Anime. I think Ill keep just watching the later.
