Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |
Things have started to pick up for me in this show. More attention on Daryl = better The Walking Dead imo, as the man is the epitome of badassery.
Andrea is really a stupid character. She always was kind of stupid, but I thought she would be the one hope at a female heroine in this series. Instead, she takes some random shot at an unidentified target just to be a bitch, and almost kills one of the three actually useful people in the entire group. The short-haired woman whose name I don't care to remember at this point is more useful than her, as she actually causes damage with her stupidity.
Also, is it just me or was the beginning of this episode downright fucking cryptic? Honestly, that was extremely well done. Watching the helicopters drop napalm in the streets of Atlanta was a hell of a way to start this episode. Overall, I think this episode may very well have been the second best one in the series yet, only behind the pilot.

Fuck, if Daryl dies. The show dies too for me. He's such a badass character I would cry if he dies.

Daryl: You gonna shoot me or what? *Gets shot*
-Commercial-
Daryl: I WAS JOKING!
I lol'd when the commercial came back to him saying that.

that andrea chich and that tdog guy are not only useless for the group, but also offer nothing to the show. they should just kill them off somehow. also <3 glen's character. form being the go-to kid for fetching stuff he is involved in everything and handles himself better than anyone in the group.

Just be like me and pretend tdog doesn't exist. It's not like he gets any air time anyways rofl

Note: quoting spoilers and highlighting them in red is essentially worse than posting spoilers.
Thanks.

wtf you guys talking about. tdog totally saved glen from falling into the well. he dove on that pipe with a sliced arm and beast moded it for a second before everyone else jumped on. plus, didnt you see him giving that water pump some serious hardcore pumps with HIS LEFT ARM? He also bashed the bloated zombie's skull in like a baws after delivering one of the best lines so far of the second season. the dude's a monster and I hope he gets more airtime.

why was glen "not supposed to see that" at the end there?

The greene family kill off people to create a super zombie army

Much better episode! Like everyone, I was pissed when Daryl was supposedly dead, but breaking down the third wall I was guessing they wouldn't kill him for the show's sake.
I definitely think the barn is filled with family members and they are hoping for a cure, still so creepy.
If the show wasn't as obvious with foreshadowing/predictable it would be truly terrifying. Currently, it is kind of evident what is coming so the suspense is just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

It's simple, the farmer guy is a hoarder. He can't get rid of the zombies because you never know when you'll need a zombie. (*from TTD)
|
wow andrea sure did get off easy... jesus

best episode of the season
Good characters are Glen and Daryl and Herschell, anyone else tends to be really annoying

I for one am curious as to how you round up ~20 walkers into a barn in the first place without incapacitating them somehow..
I think Andrea had her "i'm an idiot" moment this episode, but it also doubled as her arrival as a sharpshooter. they've been building up the whole gun thing with her for awhile and it's clear that she wants to shoot things, and hey! she hit her first target right?! wasn't a bad shot, and it worked out that she only grazed the target as it actually was not a zombie lol... I think she can only go upwards from here as a badass sniper/useful character.
One thing that hasn't been brought up yet is the development between Shane and Rick... Shane appeared to me less humane and harsher in this episode than any other so far; you can really see the effect his decision with Otis had on him. I feel like Shane is just becoming more and more dangerous, and after he tells Lori "you and Carl are the only people I care about" and she basically throws it in his face...idk, it doesn't seem to bode well for his mental state. he makes me nervous >.<

You haven't really touched on where the show misses it's mark in this regard though. The show has been pretty dark so far from what I can tell, it's kept to the general story of the comic, adding and subtracting as it goes, which keeps things interesting. The Rick in the show right now, is where Rick was in the comics at around this point. On do address more specific stuff...
+ Show Spoiler +In the show, we've already seem him start to lose his faith, it's a slow transition into the version of Rick that exists in the most recent chapter of the comics, at the point we are at now, Rick is pretty similar. Character deaths have been pretty similar as well, and at this point in the comic it wasn't like any character was a big deal anyway. There were plenty of teases in the comics as well for characters that ended up surviving, it keeps the audience on their toes. So far in the show, there has been no lack of gore and I don't see anything to suggest that any character is untouchable. Not sure what your specific gripe is based on your post.

"You see 11 condoms I see 11 minutes of my life I'm never getting back." Holy fuck if I heard that from some chick I had sex with my confidence would be destroyed. And then instead of getting laid Glenn is used as a plot device to reveal the zombies in the barn. Though if it were me I'd be like "cool you got zombies in the barn now let's go fuck somewhere else."

Definitely the best episode of the season hands down. Most of the dialogue was great and I now like where the series is going though I wasn't as skeptical as most. Only part that bothered me was when Daryl was seeing Merle for the first time and in some shots he had dirt all over his lip and in others he didn't(extremely nitpicky but it was kind of silly to see). Everything else was great, really loved the dialogue between Rick and Shane, the Daryl parts were absolutely sick and the ending was really good. Only other thing that bothered me about the barn all this time is the fact that no one has heard the zombies at all when I'm pretty sure someone would have at least heard something. I guess they could potentially go into a catatonic state if no foods near them and they can't roam, but they sure got noisy the second Glenn climbed in.
Otherwise, I think this is actually going to get better and better.
