s4e4 One of the worst episodes around I'd say. Very boring, and felt short too.
What happened? Carol's exiled, Tyrese is depressed/angry or whatever but nothing in particular actually happens with him, learn that Bob's an alcoholic. Practically nothing for 40 minutes. I guess there's that new couple event, but it's over and done with so quickly it didn't really feel like anything.
Wow great ep! Didn't expect carol to be given the boot. Wonder if she's still going to be in the show or just make brief cameos now. Where's she going to go?! She did take things too far and overcompensating for her previous weakness. Great season so far!

Seemed like the strongest episode of the season so far. No coincidence that it featured the main characters, minus Maggie, Glenn, and Herschel. Rick and Carol's foray into suburbia was really well put together, and the young couple's joie de vivre was reflected well in the malaise of Bob and Tyrese. It moved a fair bit of the plot along and had plenty of character stuff that was for once enjoyable to watch.

Seemed like the theme of this episode was about letting go
Oh wtf, they could've kept Carol around for a bit longer. It was interesting to see where her story was going to begin to go, and her relationship with Daryl. FUCK
overall, this one was a bit weak. Yes the buildup to the blowout between Carol and Rick was well executed, but I didn't much care for the group with Daryl. Bob's (mfin D'Angello Barksdale!) thing is that he's an alcoholic...? Meh. The scene where he's about to threaten Daryl with his gun over some booze was pretty stupid imo.
Also, Tyresse's sudden suicidal tendencies feel a tad forced.

Not really because first he lost Karyn and now he might possibly lose Sasha. Tyreese is trying to come to grips of whether or not he wants to kill himself because of losing Karyn but it seemed like he made his choice to live but only to try to get the medicine to save Sasha last episode. Now, he is trying to come to grips of whether or not he'd want to live without both Karyn and Sasha.
I just hope Carol doesn't pop back up with the Governor or something. Could see her becoming one of the "bad" guys under the pretense of wanting to get the little girls back.
I didn't think the episode was good whatsoever. It felt very slow, and there was very little character development outside of Carol, who is now off the show. Speaking of which, I think that's the worst way they could have resolved that conflict from a viewer's point of view: Carol is finally becoming interesting, let's get rid of her! I feel like nothing that happened this episode will carry over to future episodes in a relevant way.
Also, medic guy getting ready to draw on Daryl for taking away his liquor was hilarious:
"I am filled with regret over the death that my alcoholism has caused." -- one hour later -- "Don't take my booze or I'll shoot you!"

You've probably never experienced alcoholism first hand from someone you know. That's essentially EXACTLY what happens. One moment they're full of regret and embarrassment at what they did, and the next moment, triggered from the slightest of things, they're right back to doing what they always do, drunk somewhere causing sh*t to happen. It's a never ending cycle.
It was an alright episode. I was kind of shocked at Carol, but it makes sense I guess. With carl and judith and others that rick cares for back home, he just doesn't feel safe knowing somebody there is just willing to kill whoever whenever they feel the slightest of weakness from that person. Especially Judith, who's to say Carol wouldn't "fix the problem" if they ever get on the road again and Judith starts crying/being a burden/etc....
Also, he could only keep it from Tyrese for so long . That guy would kill her. He actually probably saved her life by letting her go.
Sad that Carol was let go. She developed into one of the strongest characters on the show; she was also very realistic and relatable imo. It's nice to see a character in this show simply go away rather than die, though.
Anyone else think that one guy pulled a Shane? That girl's leg was clearly cut off.

That's what I was thinking too

Yeah everyone here is right. Flus are rarely deadly... Then again I find it a huge stretch to think that people surviving the zombie apocolypse might be suffering from malnutrition and have a compromised immune system from things like a lack of vitamin-C (or vitamins in general).
There are definitely some flaws with the science of it. Antibiotics, which they mention at some point, don't affect viruses for instance. But it's entirely believable to see a high mortality rate from a bad flu outbreak in my opinion.
