Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

How about when the governor asks Merle if he succeeded in killing her, and Merle says he did? Or the fact that they were openly talking during the 'searching' about 'find her, she couldn't have gotten far', you don't say that to someone you're looking for, you normally go around saying MICHONNE WHERE ARE YOU WE JUST WANNA TALK. not sneak around with guns, saying 'where'd that bitch go' i think people who are pro-governor at this point are missing out on all of the painfully obvious things that michonne and the rest of us have picked up on but are probably being neglected or being seen through rose tinted glasses. Cmon, she found bullet holes and fresh blood on the humvee's they brought back, and they said they had been overrun by zombies, why would there be FRESH blood and bullet holes IN THEIR OWN VEHICLES if they were fighting off walkers. She knew enough from that point on that things weren't right.
Nope, with all bullet holes and blood in mind, All I see is a man who is trying to protect his people. Keeping the Zombies inside, all I see is a man who is probably trying to study the Zombies more so that they can be safer.
I am pro-governor, other than him keeping the heads tv. His Daughter I can sort of understand, that's his own business. If I saw his daughter being kept there, I would find it a little weird, but now half as fucked up as everything else happening in the world. That's his own business.

Yes, that's his own business, but it's also her life. You don't let someone kill you to protect his community. It's your life too.
They were talking in the middle of the forest about the kid panicking over hunting Michonne. Why would they send people after her if they wanted to leave her alone? Just because all you see is someone trying to protect his community doesn't mean Michonne cares about that at all. All you see is someone trying to protect his community. All Michonne sees is someone trying to kill her while not letting her leave when she wanted to.
And why would she care if they're forced in the party? They're just as likely to kill her as Merle. So she's supposed to sit there and wait for them to start shooting before retaliating? They made their intent very clearly when they were talking about hunting her.
It's okay to like to Governor and what he does, but do you really not understand why Michonne wants to live, and not let the Governor have his way with her?

Seriously, what's with all the pro-governor talk? And even comparing him to Rick??
Would Rick ever make a prisoner strip like the Gov did to Maggie? Rick takes in new people all the time and takes proper precautions to keep his group safe, and at the same time gives the new people a chance to survive. The Gov just kills them, straight up lol.
I don't know if it's just me, but I don't see much 'pro' in the governor... Sure he's a good leader, and hes protecting his people, but there's other ways of doing it.

I'm kinda surprised people can't see the gov. as a bad guy. Kills survivors on whim, np. Wants to kill Rick's group because it exists. Tries to kill Michonne multiple times both directly and indirectly. He's not doing any of it for the good of his group. He's doing it for more power and to satisfy his ego. He only benefits his camp because he needs them to keep himself safe imo.
The only thing he has going for him is his ability to manipulate people really well.

He must be a good manipulative character to make some people posting here believe he's a good guy lol.

Don't recall anyone saying that he's a good guy, only that he and Rick aren't very different. The major difference I can see is that the Governor went completely insane after losing his entire family, while Rick has also ventured into insanity but always eventually gets brought back. Of course, the Governor may have had some minor pre-existing psychological issues, but this doesn't seem to be very important in understanding his actions. He presumably was not a deranged sociopath who locked himself in a room full of heads before the outbreak occurred, he was probably just a random government worker with a wife and a daughter.
The Governor found himself completely alone, desperate, and with an opportunity to create a new "family" and control it ruthlessly to make sure no harm ever came to it. I can't say Rick wouldn't have done the exact same thing under those circumstances, and I can't say he wouldn't have made many of the same decisions. Would he have upheld his moral code the entire way? Maybe, maybe not. But if you honestly believe Rick wouldn't have it in him to casually slaughter an entire squad of soldiers if he thought it was in the best interests of his group, I guess we're not watching the same show.
And by the way, no use bringing the comics into this discussion, since they are obviously two very different characters. I think the tempered version of the Governor is more interesting.

So Glen Mazzara will no longer be the showrunner for TWD after the conclusion of this season. Second executive producer in as many years to bite the dust. Just when I think the show might be getting its footing.
I'd really like to see how great this series could have been if AMC execs weren't constantly chopping heads and driving off talent.

AMC consistently puts out some of the best shows (mad men, breaking bad, TWD), but their execs always find ways to try to screw the creators/writers/directors/producers. like with season 2 of twd, they limited zombies because they didn't want to fund extras. in mad men, to renew their future seasons, the creator/writer had to agree to more 'less than subtle' advertisements and to get rid of at least 2 characters to cut back on funding. My guess is Glen fought back to not let the show go to shit with stupid random advertising and limiting too much of the storyline due to budget, and AMC said fuck you and he said I won't go forward with this then. Sucks to hear since season 3 has been doing SO well.

Only one week left until the season starts back up!

I don't understand why you would cut budget on a well-running show and fall back to a shittier version of it. Good job, they understand how to increase your earnings, NOT.

because warm bodies will kill the zombie-genre, so why invest into a "dying" tv series....

So I quit watching this show after the first episode of season 2 because I thought the changes in plot from comics were terrible (the CDC finale season 1 is the biggest pile of shit I have ever seen) and the acting was laughable.
However, I liked episode 1 which I thought showed the show had potential and I love the comic. So has this show improved since the beginning of season 2? I would like to give it another chance if it has improved.

General consensus seems to be that Season 2 was pretty dumb at times, but that things got a lot better (and true to the comics) in Season 3.

I think everyone agrees that it got much better with Season 3, so I´d suggest you keep watching, and try to endure Season 2 for the good parts afterwards.
