Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.
From what I could tell from the trailer for episode 9, it seems that both merle and daryl make it out alive of woodbury. Is there any chance that the governor knew Rick would come back for Daryl and made it look like he turned on Merle so he could have Merle join their group and be an inside man? This is assuming that they let Merle in the group of course and he isn't casted aside or killed some time between woodbury to the prison.
I think, as stated before, that the Governor honestly believes Merle betrayed him by letting Michone get away. Obviously, she is to blame for the loss of his zombie daughter that he obviously hoped wasn't a complete monster inside her zombie brain. Knowing now that Merle lied to him, he's pissed because it's Merles fault that his daughter is gone. So he's going to assume Merle has betrayed him by letting Michone go find Ricks group.
This obviously sucks for Merle because he now has nobody who trusts him except his brother. This is bound to create some big tension in the group and I expect it to be a big plot point in the next half of the season.
Makes sense, I forgot about the Michonne part and how that would affect the governor.
Zero chance that Merle can join the group after torturing Glenn and Maggie, but I don't think Daryl will kill him either. I expect he'll either die trying to escape Woodbury, or Rick will kill him if he escapes successfully and that will become a point of tension between Rick and Daryl.
ROFL. I noticed that too. They're going through black guys like butter. I'm not sure if that's what happens in the comic but I'm amused and annoyed at the same time. It's a pretty difficult feeling to describe.
I was starting to think that Andrea would grow some balls and loyalty and shoot everyone at the circle to help out Daryl and go back to her old group but judging from the previews she doesn't do jack shit. Hope she meets a tragic end soon. She's becoming the character I hope gets nomnom on next.
I don't get all the hate for Andrea, It's a Zombie Apocalypse. She wants to hang out at a place that seems normal (Relative to the rest of the world anyways). She might be suspicious of the Governor, but everyone else seems to be doing fine in the community, so why should she worry?
I personally hate Michonne... She doesn't say a single word, perhaps if she told Rick and the Group that she was with Andrea for a long time helping her out, Rick and stuff might act a bit nicer to her (They spent months together... I'm sure Andrea would have mentioned the other group and their names).
I'm not saying Andrea isn't technically in the wrong having sex with the Governor and all that, but I know if I were in a Zombie Apocalypse and I found a camp of relatively nice people who do the occasional fucked up thing, then I could probably overlook some of the stuff they do. Also, why not get on the Governors good side by sleeping with him, you might get some political sway in the community. xD

Part of my dislike of andrea is that in the comics she's basically a badass woman who kicks butt and is ricks right hand lady. If someone is fucked up, she shoots them. She finds she is a good shot and an asset to the group, and that allows her to go on. The tv counterpart cries a lot and overlooks fucked up shit. She doesn't stand up and carry her own weight. All we've seen of her so far is her crying about her sister dying, then getting lost and getting sick, getting taken care of by michonne and acting all depressed, and now fucking the governor and overlooking all his f'ed up issues.
Who in reality trusts the dude they just met over the person they have spent 8 months with who took care of them when they were sick? I want to see andrea become the great person she should be, but atm the writers have put her in a really awkward spot where she's either going to just become the new lori or she's gonna redeem herself and be like a lily caul.
Nah, daryl is rick's right hand man. That role is what tyreese fills in the comics. Daryl essentially was the replacement of tyreese, but now they introdced tyreese in the tv series too. That's partially why I'm curious what they will do with daryl. Andrea in the comics does not really have a good counterpart.
Just stumbled on this randomly yesterday, it's pretty fun to watch.
Robert Kirkman (creator of the walking dead comics), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie) and Scott Wilson (Hershel) in an All Star Bowling match against Team Nerdist (Chris Hardwick, Dana Gould, Emily Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani)

I have not read the comics so I have no way of comparing the differences in her characters, but the one in the TV-show makes some kind of sense to me. She lost her sister, her only connection to the old life, she developed an honest wish to die but was forced to cope with her existence, and that is what she basically has done ever since. This development have made her realize everybody needs to find their way to handle this new reality, and thats why she overlooks habits and traits in other people which would have made us raise our eye brows. She is especially keen to overlook things when it comes to Woodbury, because it represents something beyond just coping with life. And she doesn't know about the worst things going on.
I don't think it is a matter of trust, but a matter of hope and prospects. I think she trusts Michonne more than anyone, but Michonne shows no signs of moving on or progressing. She strives to be an emotional vacuum and doesn't open up to anyone. I can only imagine how tiresome 8 months of that being your only source of social interaction is, and that is what Andrea has to expect were she to take off with Michonne again.
That being said, I can understand her, but I don't feel for her. This is a general problem for most characters in this show though, so I don't blame Andrea or her actor in particular. Something just feels off with most characters and situations.

Mild comic / TV comparison rant - you have been warned.
Tyreese doesn't last long, and even then he goes ape shit on Rick and things get tense, he's only 'right hand man' for a little while
.
I'd say comic Andrea is very similar to Daryl, which is why I like Daryl and hate Andrea in the TV series. Sure there are differences, but Andrea is usually the lookout and has peoples backs.
I don't know what they plan to do with TV Tyreese as almost everything that happens in the comics can't happen in the TV series. Rick did the whole depths of the prison thing, I suppose they could do that with him but it would kinda lame at this point. He doesn't seem to have a daughter, apparently his sister.
It's a shame really, I really feel like they're gutting the best dynamics out of the comics and replacing them with worse ones. Carl / Sophia (probably the biggest crime in the TV series killing off Sophia, she wasn't amazing in and of herself but she gave other characters more depth, especially Carl), Andrea / Dale, Tyreese / Rick (future maybe?), Tyreese / Michonne / Carol (again maybe?).
Even some of the characters are lame, Michonne just seems pissed off the whole time as opposed to just being cold and emotionally dead, already said how I dislike Andrea. I think just about the only person they didn't mess up much was Glen, but he was never really all the complicated, just a really nice, selfless and dependable guy and Hershel is actually pretty good.
Man season 3 has been such an improvement. Honestly I lost interest after the mid season finale of the second season and just got back into it and am all caught up now.
The last two seasons of TWD have been pretty much 90% garbage with 10% amazing quality television. This season has been an emotional and kick ass ride... Best part for me was at the end of episode 7 when Crossbow Daryl's slamming his knife on the wall getting ready to kill his zombiefied girlfriend and also Rick's reaction to when his wife dies.
I don't hate any of the characters anymore. I wanted pretty much everybody to die in the past except maybe Glen and Daryl, now I like all the main cast of survivors. And Cutty for Tyrese is like the perfect choice.
I know I'm in danger of spoiling myself (still season 1), but I'm honestly not sure if I'm going to continue watching this show. The pilot episode was spectacular, the good will it generated allowed me to overlook the flaws of the following episodes. Early episode 5 (where I'm currently at) and my problems with this show are at an all-time high. Believability is gone, characters are revealed as shallow/cliched and the dialogue is just awful. Please tell me this is just a low-point and there is hope for this show.
I won't even get into the Latino gangsters/nurses. What the fuck were they thinking.

The Zombie Apocalypse has occured, however, the whole thing blows over within a week and all life returns to normal. However, following the rules of the walking dead, that when you die you come back as a Zombie, would you in turn sleep in the same bed as your spouse at the risk of them dying in their sleep?
