Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

That bugged me too. I mean, zombies are slow as fuck... hop in the bed of a pick-up truck and start shooting: they advance, you advance a little bit and shoot some more. Repeat until farm is cleared of walkers or your infinite ammo cheat wears off...

Yeah I feel like they could have held it off with a little more coordination, but think about it. These people don't know what they're doing; Rick and Shane aren't there, everyone is in a huge panic, they're not breaking it down rationally. They don't play Starcraft, they don't have military training. They're not thinking about how they could just run around with a crossbow and slay all the walkers in time.
And for plot's sake, thank god, because I'm really glad they got off that farm.

I was expecting them to jump ontop of the RV and him drive off, not him go for the exit... He didn't go to get out of the RV. If anything he was probably going to open the hatch to the roof of the RV so that Rick and Carl could climb down in. Zombies broke the door down, he didn't open it to leave.
This is exactly what happened. Why would he be that stupid to open the door? Really? lol...
Either way, people are still complaining about the show not being real enough? WHO CARES... It's a damn show, it's suppose to entertain you, you're suppose to have fun watching the show. Stop being so emotional about the gun not recoiling. I've never seen so many people complain about stupid little things. It's like me saying, that the Mw3 Zombies game you guys play doesn't have recoil either when you shoot a gun with it's infinite ammo and that's why I hate it. Like let it go already, seriously.

Honestly everyone knew that when the farm was overrun that Jimmy was going to die, and so was one of the girls...

This show is the perfect example of writers not giving their characters COMMON SENSE.
Certain parts that just drive me mad are:
Herschel cared more about his farm than his family...(also his endless shotgun) "I lost my farm, family..."
Glen saying lets get out of here and Maggie freaking out cause they have like only 5 zombies around their car...5 and freaking out...she then backs up and leaves when they weren't even in any real danger...
Rick's wife getting mad at him for killing Shane after he explained Shane took him out there to kill Rick...what a dumb bitch... can't wait for her to bite it
Sophia's mom(don't care enough to listen for her name) crying out for help as she slowly walks slumped over like she had been running for 5hrs straight... when she really only went like 30 yards... fucking stupid
Also the fact that the zombies didn't even touch the house... literally they just left it... The barn was more than enough of a distraction... if everyone stayed inside quietly after the barn started up, they wouldn't have bothered with it...
T-Dog(fucking retarded name, ffs I wouldn't be able to act if I had to say his name outloud while filming) saying how he was going to leave everyone... He is in a 4 ton truck.... really? too afraid to go back.. and no it wasn't "swarming" with zombies either..
How hard would it to have had someone hop in a vehicle, drive 10mins away with the zombies following close... lead them away and find another route... Also if you live in a world infested with zombies, why the fuck wouldn't you put up a reasonable defense... stronger/taller fence... more weapons?
I understand this is a TV show, but the point of the show is staying alive if this were to happen in the real world(which is where this is based btw...). So why can't the writers at least use some common sense before writing such stupid bullshit. I purchased the first season cause well it was great... but this season was terrible and it took the whole season to finally get rid of emo Shane that it's not worth it. Since I know the direction the next season is cause of the comics, I can say it more than likely will be much better than this previous. Regardless, I'm done with this steeming pile that is "The Walking Dead".
Wow I feel better. :D

The point is that survivors are still trying to figure it out and make mistakes. Yes, a lot of shit they did was stupid, but this sort of over-analysis just doesn't.. Do.. Anything. Like, what do you want to see from a show like this? Survivors making a perfect defense and living a care-free life? It's a TV show, exciting things will happen to make it more interesting. You can't analyze the situation perfectly when there are hundreds of flesh eating monsters surrounding you at night for the first time in your life. People panic. Survival instinct/fear kicks in. Not everyone will risk their lives for others. You have the perfect vision of how many zombies had them surrounded, characters in the car at night couldn't so they decide to save their asses when they could.
I just don't get why would people get frustrated when their vision of "how things should have went down" doesn't fit with writers vision. Makes no sense whatsoever.

Couldn't agree with you more. Too many posts like the one you quoted in this thread. Same people who wanted them to leave the farm are complaining that they left the farm for no reason.
FYI Jimmy was my fav character.

the problem is that for the most part, this season was NOT exciting. there were considerable time where a whole lot of nothing was going on or just way too many episodes dedicated to one subplot (eg: sophia). it seems like they made that GTA-scene at the season finale episode just to appease the people who wanted the zombie pewpew.
i've kinda gotten over the character decision making, they're inexperienced, scared, etc, that's perfectly understandable to screw up. but the overarching story moved way too slowly for season 2.

Ok I totally get your point. They need to add things to make it more exciting and interesting, I'll give you that. What I'm trying to say is if you're going to write a show, wouldn't you think about what would go through your mind before you put it on paper for a character?
Yes I can analyze. It's called survival. You KNOW whats out there, you've been through it how many times? That wasn't their first time surrounded by tons of zombies at night... To make the story interesting it is ok to use that as an excuse to not give any characters common sense?
It's not about "how things should have went down" to me, it's about the lack thought from the writers in the first place. "Makes no sense whatsoever" .... Apparently by not giving characters common sense makes it make sense?
Think what you want really, but people that complain about the writing of this show have a valid argument. Don't base something in a real life type world and have a bunch of the living characters be so damn stupid consistantly.

There's the trained law enforcement officer with plenty of "zombie experience", acting all rational and decisive. Then there's the girl that appears to have been completely sheltered from walkers, so naturally her reaction is shock.

why couldn't the story focus on interesting characters like ninja girl or the one-armed redneck.... ?
shane, glen, daryl and rick are the only decent characters, glen and rick were boring fucks for most of the second season and they killed off shane (probably needed something extreme to make rick a hero again because he's been a crybaby bitch for most of season 2). fair enough glen was boring because he was getting laid i guess. daryl was the saviour of season 2 imo, not enough of him in the 2nd half... but even his character dialogue hinted that he was only ghosting because rick was being a bitch.
it's a serious flaw in the program... you introduce super interesting characters/events and then it goes back to mindnumbing plots and characters dumber than a herd of demented cattle. builds up so much potential and then disappoints big time...

Diablo 3's next expansion class (Michonne) :
![[image loading]](http://postmediadose.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/031912_thewalkingdead.jpg)
After the show, on the "Talking Dead" the producer was saying that Michonne is really the first character you meet that "Gets It"... who really understands how to survive in the new world.
I really think Season 3 will find it's stride with the full 16 eposiodes, and take off even higher that it already has. Season 2.1/2.2 was kind of stuck in 2nd gear for a while..., but that was just (imo) the economics/production of the situation.
Ratings for the show are incredible for basic cable. 9 million viewers for the S2 finale. If a Big-4 network had this show, it would easily have over 10 million regular viewers per week and be in the Top 10.
More viewers, more production value.. and moving to the Prison... which will open up more/better characters. Season 3 should be great.
