Ep makes alot more sense now "EVERY DAY, 200000 kids are afraid to come to school because of bullying"
That's amazing, exactly they did exactly the same in the episode, but how is it even possible ? The video's description says they did it on March 28, 2012 ??!! That's 2 weeks ago, did Stone and Parker get the idea then and make the episode in such a short time ??
This is making me enjoy the episode better, but still it had some nice morale especially around Butters and his grandma, but it was not really hilarious.
All South Park episodes are made a week before they air. Comedy Central even did a special on how they make the episodes.

Most southpark episodes are made in just a few days.

Thanks a lot for this info ! I'll look for this Comedy Central special later, but if you still have the link, I would be very curious to see this.

EDIT: someone already mentioned it >.<
They actually claim that most episodes are made the day before. The rest of the week they just chill in pools and stuff.
I know matt and trey said that, but i cant remember the source (something about how they make south park on youtube. Can't tell if it was true or just the usual matt and trey jibby jabba, but thats what they said at least
Quite awesome if its true, as they said its been like this almost since they started :D
EDIT: Also why i also wouldn't alway take their words as serious:
The Kony joke was about normal activist/type people who get rich and famous over night because of whatever media they created. They then, understandably imho, end up going a little nuts. Also you cant deny that Stans song was catchy as hell.

I wish they had a more focused criticism of Kony/Bully though. It felt like they were just taking a bunch of criticisms and throwing them in. I would have preferred if they had picked one or two points and spent the whole episode developing it.
What really bothered me was Kyle telling Stan he should release the video for free. Surely they can't be that simple-minded about Bully. I doubt the producers would have been able to get anywhere near the funding without a major studio (which means selling the movie).
I like that part because it shows the faulty logic behind so many people who are trying to get their message out to the masses.. by selling their product for just $299. Plus it's possible to recuperate the funding of a campaign like that based solely off donations (see: Kony 2012).
Just read some of the comment in this thread regarding bullying in USA, WTF?!?!??!?! I don't know about the rest of the world but here in Sweden bullying in general starts to disappear when kids get around 15+(from my experience)... And if you would (incredibly unlikly) get bullied when you start gymnasiet(high school I guess?) people around you/teachers should be able to take care of the situation.
When you guys said that you ''fought back'' do you mean that you pushed the bully back and perhaps got a jab in or two? In my old school, if two guys had a grudge they would usually fight it out 1v1 or the guy who had ''wronged'' would just go out and meet the other gang, get beaten up, and then the ''problem'' was gone. Teachers/the school only got involved if a serious assault took place(kicking people that lay down etc) This world is so strange...

OnT: Decent episode ^_ ^
One punch back and the schools consider it a fight and punish you. Zero Tolerance policies.
You could even get in trouble for stuff that happened OFF SCHOOL GROUNDS.
If you were at a bus stop, and a bus driver say you and another kid get off the bus and start fighting? Suspended.

bullying in US is really odd issue. generally any kind of physical fighting is taken very seriously, and more often than not BOTH students are punished(regardless of who did what/initiated it). unless you just sit there and take it like a bitch or run, you pretty much get in trouble for as little as pushing the other person off you). really really stupid policies. they make no sense, personally my dad always told me to defend myself regardless of school policy.
i never experienced much bullying, but I didnt go to schools in the ghetto. theres plenty of bullying at all ages, but i think its more about emotional bullying than physical.

They don't make the whole episode the day before but typically they don't finalize an episode until 10-12 hours before the air time. If you watch the special they actually work 20-24 hours a day (sometimes staying up days on end) to finish an episode in 1 week. They don't chill out during the week they are actually working really hard. It's pretty cool but it also kind of sucks because they admit the episodes could be a lot better if they had more time to make them but I guess they are just such huge procrastinators they don't ever bother to start until the day before. They did the same thing with the movie they made. It was like 2 weeks before it was set to be released and they still hadn't finished and the executives were getting pissed. It's incredible though that they can come up with such hilarious material in such a short time. Trey Parker usually does most of the writing, he is the definition of a genius.

That's weird, since im pretty sure about what i heard. At least regarding the time they start working (obviously there is some work before the day before :D)
However i won't question what you are saying, as i can't get my sources right. It's just weird that i remember that part so clearly.
Well, i love it either way.
EDIT: Hey! I have a birthday sign, although timezones means its tomorrow! Never had that before :D :D .D Happy fun time

I doubt they were referencing Kony2012 when Kyle told Stan to release his video for free, since the Kony2012 video is already free. Since when are charities not allowed to solicit donations?
They were obviously referencing Bully. I think it's a really stupid line of thinking, assuming they agree with Kyle. Having a large distributor marketing your movie means more people will see it. The price they pay is not being allowed to release it online for free.
This episode had some OK jokes but the live action ruined the episode. It was not needed and was not even that funny. I'd give this episode a 6/10 due to wasting such potential on live action.
