anybody have suggestions for who to see before Cosmic Gate's midnight set on Friday? Don't know any of the artists before them.
also decaf im so jealous ;_;
Now that I look at this, Sunday is the best day. Tritonal, John O' Callaghan, Sean Tyas and then the legend Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz and then Dash Berlin, That's an EPIC day
I'll definitely be there to catch Wippenberg. Listened to a few of his songs and they are pretty damn good.
I'm not a huge fan of Wolfgang or Sanchez though I'll probably check out Wolfgang's set anyways since I'm not sure about the other sets.
As far as days goes, I'm so pumped for Saturday. Just got into Zedd, Porter Robinson, and Feed Me (omg feed me is so good wtf?) recently, and + Afrojack, Empire of the Sun, Rusko, and then fucking Above & Beyond sunrise set. So good ;_;

Man I went there, saw Mt Eden and Doctor P though, but why Skrillrex, they shut him down, and people going to the hospital, fire harzard, and someone died.. EDC was intense.

EDCDallas doesn't even suprise me. Any 18+ and up EDM event always turns into complete garbage because of the lack of general respect from 18+ that I've seen.
For example, I recently had the awesome experience of seeing Armin Van Buuren at club Beta in Denver on a Sunday (non traditional night). It was only 21+ that night. The atmosphere at this event was beyond amazing because people were generally not trying to be ass hats and shove you out of the way just so they can get one foot closer to the DJ booth.
Fast foward a little bit and I went and saw Above and Beyond on a Thursday night at Beta where it's 18+ and generally more club atmosphere compared to a Sunday night. And oh my god, what a terrible experience it was compared to AVB. So many fresh faced highschoolers/freshman in college acting like they own the freaking place. These tools will literally shove you, stomp on your feet, and then try to fight you when they were in the wrong. Pretty much ruined my night there just by the general attitude and lack of respect.
So the EDCDallas again doesn't suprise me. It might seem very biased but at any 18+ rave I have been to, the crowds are completely disrespectful. Compare that to 21+ events and people are generally more laid back. I think it has to do with a bit more maturity at that age (18 to 21 is only three years but it's a lot in our society), and at the same time being able to drink tends to calm people down.
I noticed they mentioned that at a previous EDC a 15 year old girl died...wtf how did a 15 year old girl get in? And the drugs are at every EDM event, so no suprise there.
I go to EDM events for the music not to be shoved around by ignorant 18 year olds so I'd be content with more 21+ events.

Crowds disrespectful??? What??? When I go to a concert, any concert, I will shove my way to the front because it is more fun there. I did the same at EDC, and I will do the same at any music event. The front is just so much more magical.
But I'm also from russia so I'm used to shoving in order to get through crowds...so meh

What's so special about the front? I seriously don't get why people become rude jerks just to get up there. If the venue you're at is semi-decent then the music will be just as good at the back as it is up front. And lets not forget that people at the front got there probably hours before the event even started. What makes you so special that you get to shove people out of the way because you need to be close to the DJ? If you want to be up front you should get there earlier rather than coming up when the main DJ is about to come on and shoving people out of the way.
I try to go to mostly trance events because people are generally more respectful there and just want to listen to the music. At the AVB event that was 21+ there was still the retards that think they are above common decency and try to shove their way in. Luckily at that event my brother and I met some super chill guy and we all pretty much blocked all the people that constantly shove because we're all fairly large guys. TBH if someone tapped on my should and asked to get in front of me I would be fine with it. If you come up and just try to shove me out of the way I will shove your dumb ass back where you came from.
It's just so unfathomably rude. You don't go to the bank or where ever else there's a line and shove your way up front because it's better do you? So then why would you lose politeness just because a DJ is a playing music? I've seen some pretty funny stuff and almost gotten into fights with people that are half my size because they think they are entitled to be up front. One time this little 5ft girl comes up and rudely squeezes in front of me and then I'm like WTF ARE YOU DOING and she starts screaming at me etc. Her boyfriend comes over and pulls her back and apologizes. Ridiculous lol. I've gotten plenty of people kicked out too by bouncers.
Back on topic after that rant though, when you don't have to constantly fight off rude people listening to a world class DJ live is definitely amazing.
And I for the most part agree. I see that a lot more in younger crowds. Kids rolling in like 100 degree Fahrenheit weather without hydrating. What the hell they thinking? They forget what the last R stands for.
I really suggest that anyone who hasn't already checked out the new album Group Therapy - Above & Beyond needs to do so. This album is soo relaxing and very likable
Did anyone here watch the Day[9] stream at DreamHack? In the break between games there was some awesome music. I wonder if some of you guys recognised it and can point me in the right direction.

A lot of it was just stuff from Deadmau5 (I forget the title of what was playing), then there was some standard pop stuff being played (think Top 40).
do yourself a favor and dont fast forward...just let it ride, the way EDM is meant to be heard;] Oh and you can thank Miami for this track! love my city
