I really don't like single elim tourneys for something this major, Valve better make it up by having TI be triple-elimination

Maybe if each match was played bo5 it would be fine, but bo3 each round into bo5 finals? I mean the earlier formats we saw bo3 double elimination, if they decided to make it a single elimination then making it into a bo5 in each match isnt too much to ask.

Time constraints perhaps?
Keep moving forward

That's how it feels to "watch" (or better: "don't watch") Asian tournaments from Europe. And TI is worse for us! Grand Finals? Yeah, the recap in the morning... . =( So, have some love for us and kindly leave us this Major ... as was said: You'll get TI aaaall for yourselves soon, brothers. :D

I thought the main reason they do single elim was to have shorter event, then I realize it's still 4 days long main event. dunno tbh

Thank lord it isn't a bunch of pussy ass whining in here about Single-Elimination format. Shit ain't always great, but that's life, handle yo shit.

edit: I didn't read the comments above before posting lol

I too prefer Double-elim, especially considering the Swiss-play format made the seeding almost irrelevant -- but even knowing all this, I still find Single-Elimination tolerable in its own right. People make it seem like the players are some bitch niggas, players come to play, and that means you take care of what's in front of you, or you go home. Some people's tender feelings aren't made for the life of competition.

I really want IG.V to win against VP just to show how dumb fuck the group stage is. VP muscling out the group and losing to underwhelming IG.V is a super great testament of how faulty this chicken coward stupid fuck no elimination group stage is.

Just to clarify: which Major had ANY system, where teams where eliminated before the "Main Event"?
I think you are a little late for the hate!

Back to topic:
I will go with all teams on the left side of these pairings!

I just think they did single elim to maintain the hype for ti6. I mean =in majors previously you beat the same teams in the same format as ti6 but you got far far fewer prize money because you picked at the wrong time. So i kinda get it
