For some teams sticking together works, for some teams it doesn't. coL for example got a big jump in performance straight after they took in Limmp, Handsken and Chessie and seem to be all about that "team unity", but have showed little to no improvement compared to their competition while staying together. A team like Vega hit their peak quite early in their days as a team and then started to fall off a bit.

The way I see it, they started having decent results pretty much immediately they formed this specific lineup, and before that they were changing players quite frequently. One can say they improved a bit, but already in their first LANs with this team they were beating Secret (who had just won Shanghai) and challenging EG, and were in the finals of SL beating OG, VGR and LGD on the way.
