Hyped to see vg, og and ehome after long time against international teams ..hoping to see great matches.

My Predictions:
EG has a clear understanding of the patch because of their performance in SL, They take the group at the #1 position.
Second is Newbee. Hot off the qualifiers, I believe that they outplay VG and OG.
3rd is OG. They havent played many matches this patch but made a name for themselves by solving last patch and should be a strong team.
4th VG followed by TS in 5th

I guess for group A : EG, VG OG/newbee
for group B : LGD EHOME Secret (secret shouldn't give the slot to mineski or col)

Group A looks tough.
Group B looks tough to call.
And given recent performance, LGD is probably the only team in B that could even make it out of A.

I want to bet 2-3 immortals on Newbee to take the first place I dont want dota2lounge because its match for match :S anyone knows better site ?

EHOME is the winner of both of the 2 most recent Chinese events in the last month where LGD and VG also played. They haven't played internationally since the Summit I believe but it wouldn't surprise me if they continue to be ahead of LGD.

EHOME are better then LGD or at least on par .

Also Secret is a bit hard to call. Imo they already looked far better in SL than they did before that so I would expect them to be better and better.
Curious to see OG play after their break too.

Maybe Chuan is threatening to eat them if they don't win.
I expect most of the teams playing their first tournament on 6.86 to not do so well, so EG/LGD/Secret as top 3.

They changed up the format a bit more than we were expecting, so the group stage is actually less painful. Only the bottom team is eliminated. 4th Place should go to a Bo1 though, so being top 3 is the important detail. That makes the groups about figuring out who is going to be top 3 in each. (First place assures top 6 for the tournament and plays 1 less series, but that's it. Nice place to be, but it's not huge.)
Group A:
1: EG
2: VG
3: Newbee
4: OG
5: Team Spirit
OG hasn't played an official match on the patch and they take the first day to get sorted. Newbee has played a lot & well recently, so I think they beat out OG for the 3rd spot.
Group B:
1: Ehome
2: LGD
3: Secret
4: Complexity
5: Mineski
Ehome is the clear favorite in this group. I don't think LGD has a chance to win the tournament, but I think they'll do well in the group stage. Team Secret has a chance to show they've improved from Starladder, even if Starladder isn't a great sign of the strength of teams right now. (Bo1 group stages, bleh.)

I think the top 3 from each group will be
A: EG/Nb/OG
B: LGD/Secret/coL
Team Spirit is being underrated, they were 1 of 2 teams to take a game off of Alliance in Starladder.
There's no information on OG, they played a bunch when they were hot, then started to fall off as they went into their break.
VG is inconsistent. I wouldn't be surprised if they finished 3/4th or got knocked out.

Totally uneven groups. I wonder if they do seedings at all. Secret yet again in the easiest group.
Best Chinese team, best CIS team, Best Western EU team, and Best American team in the same group.

Best chinese team in group A? "Hello, I only follow western scene".

Imo the only real issue with the groups is the way Newbee, Spirit, coL and Mineski are placed. I would imagine Newbee > coL and Spirit > Mineski, though I may be proven wrong. But anyway switching one of those around would make them better imo. I don't think switching some of the "top3" teams around would make a huge difference.
