Oh, come on.
I think it could be exciting but it's too fast for a clueless watcher like me to even start to understand what's going on.
I think most of it comes from not being familiar with the map and how the economy works in general. I'd have thought CS would be way easier to watch than Dota 2 for a first timer though.
In Dota there is always a bit of downtime for the commentators to actually explain what's happening. In CS the casters pretty much have to be hyped all the time. Which is I guess nice once you get more into it.

To be honest, watching Dota without knowing the game is way worse.
I always found SC2 to be pretty good in that regard, you are able to pick up on most things while watching only a few games.
I mean I played sc2 way more than bw but I'm pretty sure bw was better in that regard, sc2 had too much special effect abuse while bw remains relatively clean and intuitive (apart from a couple of unique cases like dark swarm)
sc2 was solid tho, and doto is for sure terrible, I don't think there's anyone on earth who really and truly understands what goes on in a game, not even pros

I agree. Though better funding COULD equal less workload per person and less working for free thus having more capacity for exactly that, rescheduling and communicating said rescheduling throughout the whole affected staff and players.
So, I managed to watch all of EG vs LGD before Liquid vs Alliance started. Impressive that.
Anyway, I'm glad EG figured out the way to screw up what LGD wants to do is prevent Sylar from getting free-farm. That's pretty much their strategy in general when they don't have Dark Seer or Earth Spirit, so shutting down Sylar's lane is the top priority. (Which was also good that ppd banned Slark & Morphling, rather than Terrorblade, as TB can't escape early.)
Now for the fun stuff. I'm really looking forward to Liquid vs Alliance.

btw, you were right about ds first ban es second ban
I think PPD was wrong to do it in that order, but he did it every game automatically so I don't think he cared about the order, possibly he was doing it alphabetically
guess he decided he had enough of an advantage over lgd provided they didn't have those two heroes, and it certainly seems like he was right

You made me remember how awesome BW is. Dark swarm, such a hype spell. When the Zerg was swarming a terran base and dark swarm poppíng up indicated where devastation was to hit next. New defilers eating poor zerglings to gain energy and head to battle. The cracklings eating terran buildings as if they were crisps. Oh the fun old days Super late game TvZ sure was hype

I got to watch a lot of LGD over the holiday Chinese tournaments (my sleep schedule was a little off), and they really only play a few ones. The big one is just producing a free-farm lane for Sylar, then rolling into something of a pseudo-4 protect 1. (Or we could call it a modern variety) With the supports they play, they lock down and let Sylar go ham on them. Or they push down your towers. It's a good system, but you beat them by shutting down Sylar. In game 3, while Sylar caught up a bit, it came at the cost of the supports. Nightstalker got Aghs like 3 minutes before the GG.
Also, credit to LGD in Game 2, that Vision game was nuts. Add on top that Elder Titan pick that really didn't work out (much like Sven in game 1), and it was a really good game by LGD.
