I wouldn't say the organization is smooth, there were massive delays and fuck-ups of all kinds happening throughout the entire time, I mean alliance and liquid were set to play over an hour ago now but they've made a fun-to-watch event despite that, and with another chance I feel pretty confident they'd fix some of the difficulties they've been having tldr more belarus is gud

I think it could be exciting but it's too fast for a clueless watcher like me to even start to understand what's going on.

I don't remember those, but I'm okay with being wrong and delays aren't a product of insufficient funding, just inexperience, money is not a factor in effective scheduling if I was criticizing it for lack of out-of-game content or something then yeah it's impressive what they're doing

I think most of it comes from not being familiar with the map and how the economy works in general. I'd have thought CS would be way easier to watch than Dota 2 for a first timer though.

People watch football after all. The superbowl is the biggest event in sports for a single final. I find it incredibly boring but I musn't translate this to other people. e: On January 16 2016 23:13 Acritter wrote: did ti have multi-hour delays? And that doesn't come for free.

It's the same with just about any esport title, though. Dota is probably even more confusing for someone unfamiliar with the game as in CS at least all the players are equal and it's just a fight to the death most of the time, whereas in DotA how do you even know why losing 3 people for 1 is okay sometimes and why taking down some random ugly hut is worth dying for etc.

I have played exactly one game of cs in my life (1.6) and picked up on what was going on pretty fast, just look at what players are doing and listen to what the commentators keep on talking about and you'll figure out what's important I mean I couldn't cast the game for shit but I have a feel for how the game works rn

To be honest, watching Dota without knowing the game is way worse. I always found SC2 to be pretty good in that regard, you are able to pick up on most things while watching only a few games.

And that doesn't come for free. I mean that doesn't seem like a very good argument, all that's saying is that you have to have run other events before which is true but still is not even slightly affected by how much funding any one event has
