Cannot believe that these tech issues are that hard to deal with. Low quality production crew or equipment is likely. I mean I don't think I've ever seen a Chinese tournament with out these issues. Theres a reason I didn't buy the compendium, because so far the tournament has sunk to my expectations wonderfully.
Honestly, I don't know why I get hopeful anymore. Always they'll try to make the tournament seem exciting like, that they fixed previous issues... Yeah no.
Still to this day, 95% of Dota 2 associations are a complete joke. This tournament will hurt Dota more than help it if it keeps going like this.
Edit: Apologies for my bitching.

The same teams shouldn't be playing 2 games in a row, so no reason why a delay in one game would cause larger delays in another. This way they have people complaining about downtime for 45 minutes once every hour, because there's nothing to watch.
It's not only teams, you also have caster schedules, production crew schedules, etc. With proper planning it would probably be possible, but if your plan was to start the games at the same time, improvising to 'just play whenever you're ready' halfway through the day is probably not a good idea.

Her stun is actually quite bad and the -armour and aura is kinda overrated. Swap is the only reason she should be picked, which means she doesn't deserve the first pick she is often getting. The aura isn't overrated. It's pretty much what carries her into having a 14% better winrate than the other supports not named AA. It is though. And how exactly it does? Her aura barely affects anything other ganks and roshan, in actual teamfight it has low impact until ultra late if your team does not consist of morph/TB/drow/tony.
Clearly because her passive only increases allied damage.

even the big bad LoL worlds have technical problems, this is not limited to DOTA2.

meh i don't mind the bad production qualities. the whole esport thing is still new and growing, we can't expect too much out of it

Low quality equipment is basically a given when it comes to China, unless it's government run.

Well that win rate is more due to swap than the aura.

the problem is that you are still getting disappointed because they somehow manage to not surpass the ridiculous low expectations by one bit.

BW never had these screw ups. Quake, Counter Strike... 10 years ago the average tournament with a prize pool of $1k was ran smoother. Just recently my memories of law tournaments have been really bad in Dota 2. Summit 2 filled with plague, and many others, and now supposedly the 2nd biggest tournament of the year also.

I mean to some point its understandable, but it seems like every other tournament is a issue filled mess. It gets old really fast. If it wasn't for the fact that LCS and blizzards WCS which are run by the big companies I'd be more upset at organizations, but at this point I have accepted that I'm going to wind up not watching one out of every three tournies that I want to watch due to unbearably stupid stuff.

Yep, I don't even know who is to blame though, shouldn't the bad firms be displaced by the good ones?
If anything, it shows how a competitive free market approach leads to market failure when dealing with information technologies (as if we didn't know that already).

Well I guess with 16 teams they'd have to completely screw up their scheduling for the delays to be that bad. Still, I personally prefer it like this. There's rarely more than 1 game going on I want to watch, and it's nice to have break so I can do some chores. Laundry, homework, food, that kind of stuff.
I'm sure there would be plenty of things to complain about with staggered matches. Like forcing you to skip the end of one match if you really wanted to catch the start of another, or the other way around.

It's a form of population control.
People will die from being passed about these delays today.
