I mean yesterday we saw some of the best Dota ever played and Newbee deserve to be in the finals winning 5+ BO3s in a row. The games are on such a high level I don't get it why you could ever complain. Today should be even better since it's elimination matches for every team. Because people are expecting that because the prize pool is so high that every game will include 5 aegis steals, 2 divine rapiers and at least a base trade which comes down to a second. Half of them are idiots who haven't watched the group stage and enjoyed the 120 games we got there. Half of them are ignorant and for some reason cannot enjoy Dota unless their favorite team is among the top 8. It's best not to bother your head with people like this..

They could also have 2 week drafts and get eliminated by LGD.

I actually fell asleep after the first game of the winners bracket final yesterday and went to reddit to see the "congratulations to the first finalist" thread. Instead found a "fuck this format, so boring."

The games are on such a high level I don't get it why you could ever complain. Today should be even better since it's elimination matches for every team. The format is awful and really anticlimatic. At least this is my opinion. But knowing 2 teams of the top 3 so early, splitting BO3, not having all 16 teams on the main stage, etc... is killing the hype for me. Anyway it's still TI, I'm really eager to watch everything, love most of it, but this year is not the same than before. It feels a bit bland :-/ Because knowing 1 team is in the final makes todays lowerbracket games and tomorrows really anticlimatic and boring. Yeah I see where your getting at. It's not like it's do or die for these teams anyways /s Also I really do not understand the fact that we need to have 16 teams on the mainstage. If you think that the format now is bland and hypekilling I would not even dare to think seeing Arrow and Mouz losing game on game through on the mainstage delivering nothing but dissapointing performances. Theres no winning for Valve with some people.

Or is the Chinese community also complaining about this? My guess is they're not.

Understandably so. Exactly why could they not just run 3 Bo3's? cos then the series tomorrow would be a bit strange, since you play one LR2 match one day and another LR2 match the next I don't see how that is stranger than splitting a match in two. You never see something like that in real sports because the first half of a game has an impact on the second.

If there was a major problem with the format, the whining would've come out straight away when Valve announced it, yet we see it now, when a non favorite team made it to the Grand Finals.

I don't think it's only a problem of newbee winning. I didn't know how to feel about the format. I mostly thought about the change to the upper and lower bracket and didn't care for the schedule. Just yesterday after the first two series when I noticed that it's about two hours until the first finalist was decided I noticed that it felt strange.
