... I mean is this even fair. on 1 hand i want navi to win because it's navi, but on the other hand i want c9 to win because it's c9. this game is literally going be hilarious to watch, and i don't want to bet because it's 50/50 dependent on throw drafting, throws in game, PLD throwing, xboct throwing, EE throwing etc. IG vs LGD IG wins obviously. I can't see a single way LGD can win, none. http://puu.sh/ahOrl/b1e4f7538c.jpg some people have huge balls :D

cos then the series tomorrow would be a bit strange, since you play one LR2 match one day and another LR2 match the next

What they could have done is what every fighting game tournament like EVO does for a top8 double elim bracket. First 2 sets are winner's top 4. Next 2 are loser's top 4. Then loser's semis. Then winner's finals, loser's finals, and the grand finals. The only difference is they skipped 4 loser's sets for some reason. I could speculate but I'm sure Valve has some reason even if it's not ideal.

I mean yesterday we saw some of the best Dota ever played and Newbee deserve to be in the finals winning 5+ BO3s in a row. The games are on such a high level I don't get it why you could ever complain. Today should be even better since it's elimination matches for every team.

That's actually a more controversial decision than playing WF's on day 1 in my opinon. I mean there's precedent with something like from back in BW but I haven't seen that sort of split in any modern tournament in recent memory. It'll be an interesting psychological challenge.

I'd say we had two really intense matches yesterday. But if it wasn't for the price pool I wouldn't call yesterday "some of the best Dota ever played". Well maybe I would. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish the "best" games from the "most entertaining" ones. I usually recommend games in which one team played perfect dota but that often makes the other team seem weak and so I can see why some wouldn't enjoy this TI from a gameplay perspective. If we then look at the format... that's another point that is even more debatable. (short examples: 8 teams still fighting but 1 grand finalist already decided / 8 teams already out / 100+ seeding games into 2 elimination matches into another 4 seeding matches)

At least this is my opinion. But knowing 2 teams of the top 3 so early, splitting BO3, not having all 16 teams on the main stage, etc... is killing the hype for me. Anyway it's still TI, I'm really eager to watch everything, love most of it, but this year is not the same than before. It feels a bit bland :-/

I think they should have intermixed the winners and losers bracket matches so that the finalists are not determined that early.
