I actually think mebbe a significant thing they could do is (other than the standard bans such as dire lycan) is to try going for an NP ban against xiao8. Tide can be dealt with or counterpicked, but the way that Newbee rotate/group up AND add the additional force with xiao8's TP is very hard to deal with, especially if you have more static lanes. Then if you force Newbee to either have more static lanes or do their roaming shenanigans, you can now deal with them like you deal with the other teams that do that (and it's not like their roaming combos are weirder than, say, a support jugg or ursa). That or force situations where you're better in lane (sans TPs).

I'm more than pleased about the results as a "neutral" fan at this point. I liked to watch the chinese scene as a whole the last weeks and with VG #1 after group stages it was a pretty big surprise already but it somewhat proved that the chinese teams can beat each other from day to day basis. And with Newbee, with that impressiv of a run, it's just another huge pleasant surprise. I don't know if many forgot about it or didn't predict it this way but Newbee was top 4 for many. Atleast for the people who followed the chinese tournaments. Maybe many just put them aside after they barely made it even into the top10 but for me they seem as some sort of na'vi 2.0 in terms of "comeback". Let's see if they also only get 2nd place. Personally I couldn't be more hyped or pleased so far how everything played out.
