The match ran long.
They were supposed to play at 22:00 and with set-up time they probably wouldn't have started until like 22:45.
Which seems like a little but it was already past midnight for the Russian players. Considering the format of the tournament with just doing 1-2 matches every now and then not postponing and doing def-loss is pretty weak. But hey, they have to make sure QPAD goes through the group stages ey? Conspiracy theories?

From what it sounds like VP agreed to a time, was told it might go long, and then pulled out.
Sucks as I would have liked to see VP vs Liquid, but can't be helped I suppose.

VP was well aware that the match was going to end up going until late at night when they agreed to play. I can understand them not wanting to play, but eventually organizers will stop inviting them to events :\

VP forfeits, proving they were indeed the perfect choice to replace EG, who would've probably also forfeited.

It is 1:30 am in Russia. The match was scheduled for 12pm. It is a bo3. This is EU tournament. Have decent schedules for fuck's sake.

Maybe they should have played the VP vs Liquid match first, then the QPAnDas vs Liquid one. Oh well.

It wasn't supposed to be that late.

From what I understand, the schedule was already made and then EG pulled out. VP then agreed to play knowing full well what the times might end up being.

what kind of pro gamer sleeps before 3am anyways!?
seriously though, sucks that we won't be able to see this match played. I think they've only met once before and that was way before either team was in their groove.

Edit: And no, no times were made by EG. VP agreed and chose this exact schedule themselves.

Literally booked every single day, 24 hours a day. Yeah, no, they could reschedule if they tried.

Or how about teams play the games they are scheduled for when they agree to play the tourney? VP should not have agreed to play if they were not able to actually. The game was like what, half an hour late? They were gonna be up until 3-4 anyways, I don't think half an hour means that much :\

It's seriously a nuisance to watch your posts throughout the whole forum here. There's only a certain timeframe that can be played in because we have players in University and players on the westcoast. VP is Russian, so that limits things greatly. There's a very big chance that if it would have been rescheduled, it would have had to be at a similar time or even later for them because the studio is running every evening and have other things than just this tournament.
However, let's put the cards on the table. VP had already fucked up scheduling twice and this would have been the third time we would reschedule for them, if that happened. Also VP pulled out about after game 1 of our game vs QPAD, so they had no idea this would run late. They just didn't wanna play at 1am (or something else they didn't tell us). That being said, they were the ones to suggest this time (22 CET / 1am their time), not being able to make it is entirely their fault and is completely fine.
Delays are normal and in a live setting things won't ever be running completely on time. Deal with it or don't play live online tournaments.

Your comments are equally delusional and heavily bias tons of times, not really relevant. I don't need you to explain to me that people live in different time zones and it's hard to schedule. They made the decision right there and then, when they were supposed to be playing, this means they made no effort to reschedule. So yeah, don't give me this crap that it's hard when there was no effort made.
If VP pulled out earlier then it's a completely different story, but that's not what was conveyed on stream and that's not what you said in the comment I was replying to. So if you're going to make arguments based on non-public info, then put that out there first before calling people delusional.

If VP comes up and says "fuck it we aren't going to play" what are they suppose to do? Bend over backwards and change their entire schedule just because one team decides they don't want to play?

Edit: And yes, they were offered and granted reschedule 2 times before. So I don't know what you're talkinga bout once again.

I don't remember calling you a dick, you're the one making it personal. Come down from your power trip for a bit and if you're going to be talking to people in a public forum you can't assume that people have the information that you have and that they will draw conclusions based on what's public.
What was public was that the match ran late, VP couldn't play (and this was said on stream that it was because it ran late), and thus they got a defloss. I still believe this is bad and shouldn't happen, saying that 'things run late sometimes' isn't fine, that bo3 took 3.5 hours.
You now say that VP canceled before that in which case they're the ones breaking the schedule. In which it's of course a fine decision from the tournament admins and I wouldn't argue about that.
You can't use private information to bitch about what people think about what's public information.
~
And not that it's relevant, but you seem very interested in me personally. But I don't assume that I know everything, I know that I know what I'm presented. When I'm speculating I usually make it pretty clear that I am. But in this case, the story seems pretty simple. Match runs late, VP can't play. And that's what was said. It would be silly of me to assume that they had actually canceled 3 hours earlier.
