If you look at 2009's casting,he criticize everything in a smallest thing and never try to sugarcoat everyone.

Always overhyping shit, trying their best not to criticize and offend anyone, etc. Luminous and EE didn't give a shit this game, I appreciate it. I don't know who you have been watching but I have noticed the opposite, a lot of casters spend time going over mistakes players make. They are also often completely wrong in their criticism. The over all atmosphere in pro dota seems to have moved from "great play by team x" into "HUUGE THROW by team y, lets reference some bad joke that people spam in twitch chat". It is getting annoying.

Meanwhile many western doto players are all some kind of celebs who think everyone should worship them.

As for casters and casting style, it depends on who is casting imo. 2009 can easily get away with it because he knows what he's talking about, and you will gain a lot of insight about the little things and details. Western casters lack the knowledge and experience to call out pro players on mistakes though. They might be right sometimes, but then they're wrong a lot of the time and it's just stupid and annoying then. I feel they should just leave that to their co-caster for the most part and just focus on play-by-play etc.

That said, I feel like there had to be some strong mention/attempt at analysis of how badly Fnatic's mid matchups went in both games and what that meant.

He'd get slammed to hell and back and back to hell and back again. Gonna ask again, does anybody know if Dignitas is playing full lineup? They are pretty reliant on a few players.

~ Anyway, QPAD vs Dignitas. I guess the first real indicator for how their boot-camp is going and how they'll perform since the western qualifiers aren't far away.

Especially the whole 'riot plz' 'pentakill' shit needs to cut off, it's gotten very old. Or "Wombo combo" and "mlgyolo420blazeit...." Those two are the most horrendous (and old) phrases caster can say, imo. I personally can't stand his casting. Hasn't he been around many years now? Before Dota 2 even?

But it's easy to get stuck in a loop of saying dumb shit though when there's little push-back, I just think he needs to take a serious look at his casting again and re-evaluate.

Yeah I think he is a good guy / caster overall but it seems he has been slacking a bit in the past few months. I'm sure he will bounce back.

But I remember watching commentaries of things long before that from just random people or WC3 commentators who would do like 1 game of Dota. Although of course in WC3 the hot thing was to download mp3's and sync them up to replays.

To be honest it was nicer than watching vods. It felt so much more personal. And the WC3 commentators were amazing, it's a shame few of them are still active or moved to Dota. Only big example is like Phreak doing LoL, but he was annoying as hell in WC3.
