We're all gamers here. I'm not oblivious to the ping problem. I play FPSs a lot and ping tends to get extremely annoying, but only if the difference is huge.
100 ping is good, 200 to low 300 is manageable. Anything above high 300 gets very annoying to play.
But honestly, this shouldn't be primary discussion in regards to why a team loses. It has to do with the team mentality when they play, and they know it's on a server they won't have great pings. You shouldn't ever play another Pro team with such an negative mentality to begin with.

I am so pumped up to watch Alliance vs NaVi. Hope they put up a good show.

simplistic strawman caricatures.

I can't quite figure out what advantages you are talking about. Things like Home Field advantage, weather, injuries, player condition are all acknowledged and recognised parts of many sports. These things are just usually not really able for us to equalise. Why can't ping be one of those things - until we find out a way to route data faster than the speed of light or until there's enough money in the scene for LAN competition to become the default.

Hmmmm... I'd say Ping is like home turf advantage, I think teams should just deal with it, it's gonna be there, and it CAN be overcome, so whatever.
In countries with short football seasons, teams don't even get to play against every team on their home turf, if they get the toughest opponents as a visitor, well tough luck.

there are different homefield advantages. it often is intangible, such as homecooking effect, crowd effect etc. but when you have an advantage that directly affects the physical parameters of play, for example if your side of the football field is 80 yards long and the other guy's 20 yards, then that game is pretty unfair and won't last long if that unfairness is recognized.

People need to stop coming up with silly analogies. Home turf is a purely psychological advantage, and it can be argued for some it's a disadvantage. More than that, the place where you are playing is known before hand, and you rotate where you play per match or per tournament. I would have less of a problem if it was like "each team will play x matches on their server, full matches, not games." Of course sure you would still have the situation where you might be playing harder teams on the easier server, but that way we wouldn't end up with this super swingy matches, coinflip decisions, and potentially certain teams getting the advantage more than others.

Home field advantage is not purely psychological, the most tangible is its affect on officiating.

So eg is actually trialing bamboe for both players' slots and depending on how fear/demon/jeyo feel about it, they will decide who to kick... interesting.

Brax will apparently be commentating with Ayesee. Don't know if that's enough for me to not go with BTS especially since it starts at 9am my time and I haven't slept yet, not sure if I can handle AC in that state, but worth checking out.

AC had fear on for his casts last night and I felt that they did a much better job than LD and Lumi.

If it's LD and Lumi again I'll definitely have to watch AC, I like LD's casting a lot but I'm really not a fan of Lumi's. He doesn't seem to say much for how much he talks, and he tends to try to go off on tangents(sometimes interesting ones) right before big teamfights, leading to LD kinda awkwardly interrupting him. Maybe they just lack chemistry or something. LD with Winter or really any pro is pretty great.
Not the biggest deal though, I'm just glad to have good options to choose from and good games to watch :D. EG has been looking a lot better recently, I'm interested in how they'll fair against Fnatic. I suppose we could run into more server issues but hopefully we'll get some good games regardless.

i dont think these games are being played live. DeMoN usually doesnt stream an hour before they play. CONSPIRACY?!

I actually wouldn't be surprised, though it's obviously just idle speculation. At the very least, they've attempted to move Fear into a support role (and he's very good at it), but Maelk and Bdiz aren't suitable for carries, and frankly Demon is doing very well as solo-mid.
Will anything come of this? Who knows. But if they feel Fear is best fit into support, then they'll need someone else to take over the Carry position.

Pretty sure Demon and Fear have streamed before their G-1 matches. In fact...I'd venture to say Demon has streamed before all of them during this qualifier.

I like Lumi + Godz better than LD + Lumi, Godz and Lumi have better chemistry.
LD + Winter OTP best casting team ever tho
