Dignitas 0-9 on EU, 18-11 on USE. It's a bit dated tho, around a month.

That's why i didnt say anything regarding this silly ping talk. Judging from watching the games, i see nothing affected heavily by ping/connection so far, like 100ping is pretty much expected in online matches since year 2000. It's not like if the games were played on LAN the teams will suddenly do better (most teams usually do worse/choking/tilting more on LAN), so it is kinda 'balance'. Accept the fact that this is online tournament and enjoy. It is not our concern on that ping while players just need to do their best on whatever server. Whining on the ping thingy is just another way to make excuses for the losses of some teams.

Look at like the DHI final, that last game, Nth had no business coming back from that game. That was the 1 game that series that was won on an away server, in 5 games. I would 'still' like to see some sort of equalizer mode or servers with minimum pings just to see how it would work. But as Dota moves forward, it can't go on like this, people will lose interest.

Regardless of if you see the difference in play or like Bulba mentioned it's more about mindset the statistics show, and we predict beforehand, that this is the most likely outcome. We should have won game 2 as well and that was on EU but we had massive fuck ups (6 tower advantage into lose is pretty bad). No player is saying that it is impossible to win on non-home servers, but the odds definitely do get skewed. Being right on the west coast sort of sucks for dota. Also ping really does matter. Even for the Chinese.

At least if the tournaments are server locked (hard for G-1, but possible for others) then you know what to expect. You know that Empire is playing in D2L which means they have to play USE etc.. etc... But I don't see why putting a floor on the ping would be impossible either. Unlike some, I don't think it's an unfixable problem, there's no fix that makes everyone happy, but there are fixes that makes the scene results not be decided by coinflips.

Alex sure seemed to have trouble landing decent ice paths in game three. But then again, if you know you are playing on a foreign server you should maybe try to stick to heroes who are not as affected by lag.
