iG was not in form yet they defeated DK and played narrow matches vs. all but Alliance and LGD. Give Liquid a bit of credit.

So what? If the teams don't make a big deal out of it, why do you?
Do you think Xiao8 wants people to make a big deal out of his breakup with his girlfriend, rofl?

GLHF why do you have to hound Dendi. Just accept that he's Stephano and that the West loves people ie Stephano and be done with it.

First of all, nothing can be concluded from the single game. Secondly, I don't think iG's meta = East meta anymore.
And even if we suppose that TL > iG, it is only one Asian team.

This is a weird tweet.
"Yo you guys want another cup"
"Yeah, we who work for a completely unrelated company want yo money".

His beak up was all over sgamers, there was already publicity AND he is the one with the "game show" about him and his (ex)-gf. Please, go troll some else.
In the end it all could be show, who knows!

Hahaha MLG. But I do hope they do it. MLG has the resources to run an offline LAN and bring in Asian teams.

If it was no big deal, do tell me why Dendi's Chinese fans reacted so aggressively. Do tell me why pros such as Chuan and Zhou essentially said, "Do you know what you just said?" Do tell me why Xiao8's ex-gf is receiving a lot of flak at the moment for Dendi's comment. Anyways, Na'Vi has already apologized so no need for further discussion.

Lol I dare you to walk alone up to a group of friends in a Ukrainian bar, challenge one of the guys to an arm wrestling contest and when you win you start mocking him for being a weakling and how you fucked his GF last night. I wouldn't take bets on you surviving. These childish "honour" games are not Chinese, they are fairly universal.

Pitch forks maybe? You are not new to the scene, i don't need to tell you how this works so stop posting stuff like that. Remember "rat dota" (fnatic vs VP)? Or any other major drama in the west as well.
In the end this just adds entertainment value, as long as the parties do NOT hate each other (which is quite clear, if you follow their weibos).

Pitchforks? Dendi is probably the most admired DotA player in China after Loda. Heck, if Chuan and Zhou, two good friends of Na'Vi, are like "uhhhh... what did you mean when you said that? or "why did you say that?" then you know your comment isn't well received. That sort of public display is considered really offensive in Chinese culture.

MLG trying to get the spotlight without doing anything like always. Sundance has been saying dota 2 will come soon for god knows how long. I really don't care anymore about MLG picking up dota 2. In the end it might not even work out. I'm happy with how the European / Chinese scene is and that the Korean scene is developing.

Of course it is NOT well received, it does not realy matter though, becouse it was NOT his fault, someone told him to say that. Why are you now drama mongering, when China lost their second big tournament with int. teams to one of this teams? I could argue, that that is the reason, why you try to make such a fuss.

Which is why his remark isn't considered ill-intentioned. It's considered dumb, for not verifying beforehand.
You realize that my motivations for my position does not impugn its validity. To argue against it, you actually have to address the arguments rather than speculate my hidden motivations.
Anyways, as far as I'm concerned, Dendi is pardoned. It's people like you who are saying that Dendi didn't make a mistake.

It is but at the same time I don't think everyone in China will just start hating Dendi from now on. Yes his reputation took a hit, but ChuaN jumped to his defense asking why he said it right after the game. It will probably take awhile for Dendi to get his reputation back but eventually he will.
Especially when he most probably didn't know what he said. He apologized fast, xiao8 accepted. What's done is done. Ruru also voiced her opinion, so this really isn't just Dendi. It really comes down to xiao8's break-up with his ex which kind of spilled over.
The break-up is apparently pretty huge in China so.

Yes. My point, that it adds entertainment value still stands though, same as the posibility that this is completly staged. Who knows what realy happend
I do not only realize that, i actually told you that back on JD. I wrote something like "Even if stalin says 1+1=2, he is right, even if i can not stand that guy". I may phrased that better, but who cares at the moment.
If this is staged, he did not make a "mistake", but it is a "great" show and will bring more viewer! I don't have to remind you of the great Muhamad Ali and his Trashtalk even BEFORE the fights - or Kobe, Jordan there are so many great athletes who trashtalked (even worse stuff), that i can not even begin to make a list.

The break-up is apparently pretty huge in China so. I agree completely. It was really key that Dendi clarified so quickly and had LGD formally (and iG informally) back him up.
What could've been seen as an outrageous display of bad sportsmanship resolved itself as good sportsmanship poorly manifested. In the end, it benefits the viewers by giving us a glimpse of a burgeoning rivalry that could emulate iG vs Na'Vi come TI3:
We would appreciate an Alienware Cup 2. We don't like to finish second. Great job on the first season. Next time will be different. -LGD Twitter

About MLG.
I been following MLG since it's Halo 2 days. The 2 things that MLG asks for the games they showcase is LAN support, as well as developer support. That is EXTREMELY important for them. They hate to rely on Internet.
I think DotA 2 is getting LAN support soon (someone find it, I know I saw it some where.) So will DotA 2 be picked up by MLG? I don't think so yet. They have LoL already and with how they do their games, having DotA 2 and LoL right next to each other might not be extremely wise considering the fans will be at each other's throats.
Sundance or the organizers probably realized how big DotA 2 is getting, with Koreans getting into it just now, how big this Alienware Cup ended up with viewer wise with just NaVi vs China. They are probably interested but I don't see them doing anything aside from Online Tournament. I know for certain they did a Showmatch awhile ago with EG vs Na'Vi. It went ok, but there was a lot of lag because of the oversea connection.
I don't see MLG getting DotA 2. I see them picking up another Alienware Cup tournament if possible, flying the Chinese teams over for it but for every tournament they organize? No.
MLG is just interested because of how big the viewer count was for something that wasn't The International.
