Everything. Comparing his Magnus to Super's just a few games before was a bit painful ... is Yao not good on Magnus? :/ He's actually known for his Magnus, which doesn't make this any better. I wouldn't say Xiao8 is famous for his Prophet tho. LGD did GREAT with Xiao8 mid and Yao offlane with Xiao8 controlling tempo for months now. Now they pull this shit for 4 games in a row. Sadly, I disagree. Xiao8's prophet was imo the best prophet of TI2 in addition to LongDD. To see no Chinese players playing good prophets these days is indeed disappointing.
Xiao8 as a mid player focuses on ganking mids (Beastmaster, NS, Nyx) that scale off if momentum isn't found early. True, he also plays DK but Yao has a better DK than Xiao8. Anyways, LGD's big problem this tournament has been their predictability and emphasis on 4p1. For some reason, Xioa8 et co refuse to adapt to the split push/mass farm metagame.

TC(and everybody in liquid) played great but bulba was clearly the mvp his performance in this last game might be the best one ever by a clockwerk in professional dota 2 without tc's start, bulbas hook wouldve been standard bulbas hook. You know, killing his team and himself if they try to follow up.

Because they wanted a magnus, but Xiao8 is the weaker mag on the team. Except with that draft and those lanes they could have run Mag offlane just fine. They put themselves into this position with the Furion pick, though. Which is their problem because they shouldn't draft themselves into that position.
LGD doesn't work with Yao mid anymore. It worked at TI2 because the game was slower and allowed for a mid who didn't necessarily direct the tempo and made up for it with teamfight presence (e.g. Yao Invoker mid at TI2). But the game right now demands a mid who has control and directs the midgame game flow. People give LGD crap for playing 4-protects-1, but quite honestly THIS is why they don't have midgame control. Not because they're putting everything on Sylar because Sylar is playing carries with midgame presence and has excellent execution in midgame fights when he comes to them. It's because having Yao mid fundamentally puts the team on a defensive posture when Yao doesn't gank, doesn't apply pressure, and who is a player whose strength does not lie in his sense of game flow like Xiao8 is.

The funny thing is that you make it sound like that wasn't a standard LGD draft. Maybe you think they play/draft horribly all the time?

wisp = super strong to abuse small positional mistakes, great snowball potential OD = super strong laner that ruins a lot of things for your draft bat = super strong laner, initiator and super flexible DS = super strong laner (you get the picture), puts insane pressure on supports and is a cornerstone for AoE teamfight Naix = free BKB, strong laner, very strong midgame with very few items

To be honest, Valve has really stepped up expectations for big esport events all around (the professional reporter/interviewer, the stage, the production, etc).. makes stuff like MLG and Dreamhack look like they're put on by amateurs. Yeah, Valve's production value is amazing. Makes the whole experience outside of the games awesome and entertaining.

i feel like none of the asian teams came with anything new to ti3. they've been playing just like they've been playing in the last month when compared to the western teams who have brought a ton of new strats and styles.
