Are these cornerstones to popular "builds"/strat trees or just super powerful characters in unique ways?
edit: answeredish Thanks guys!

Everything. Comparing his Magnus to Super's just a few games before was a bit painful ... is Yao not good on Magnus? :/ He's actually known for his Magnus, which doesn't make this any better. I wouldn't say Xiao8 is famous for his Prophet tho. LGD did GREAT with Xiao8 mid and Yao offlane with Xiao8 controlling tempo for months now. Now they pull this shit for 4 games in a row. Because they wanted a magnus, but Xiao8 is the weaker mag on the team. Yup, I think I said earlier picking Magnus is one of the few things that put LGD in an INCREDIBLY awkward position right from there. Xiao8 is such a beast on so many heroes (BM Kunkka Clock to name some) and brings games home, Yao just can't pull the same kind of weight coming from midlane.
Either Xiao8 has to step up his Magnus game or they need to just stop fucking drafting it. The latter would be the correct step short term for a tourney like this.

Yeah, it's really setting the tone - I hope they keep these clips for future tournaments.. it's Soul Calibur-level epic.. (DEFENDING CHAMPIONS... INVICTUS GAMING!!) To be honest, Valve has really stepped up expectations for big esport events all around (the professional reporter/interviewer, the stage, the production, etc).. makes stuff like MLG and Dreamhack look like they're put on by amateurs.

Yao is a really good Magnus, probably one of the best. When Magnus was ported into Dota2 he was the undisputed Mag player for months, thus the "YaoMag". This game it was not his best, but I wouldnt say he played badly, in the roshan fight he actually got 2 in the RP (making Korok get into the cogs so Sylar could hit him) and then 4.
If anyone remembers, Yao actually played mid and Xiao8 offlane in TI2, then in the earlier months of this year when LGD was really consistent it was Xiao8 in the mid role and Yao offlane.

It deserves top 3, but that's simply due to a lack of teams that are really playing to Alliance/Na'Vi caliber, not due to them playing exceptional in any way. All 4 of the upper bracket Chinese teams should be capable of at least playing to DK's level, even if they can't beat Alliance/Na'Vi. The fact that they're not is very much disappointing. Yeah that's a good way of putting it. LGD/TF/iG not even being able to stand up to DK is just disappointing as hell. TF seems pretty solid so far. Is it mostly their drafting holding them back? I feel they are kinda random. Well they play well they can surely compare to DK. But they seem far less reliable.

Still hyped about the TL win. :D

TL in top 8 and already guaranteed $42,000? First place getting $1.4 MILLION ?! 0_0 but remember, it's split between players!
Of course 280,000 per player is still mindblowing though

the former mostly. it's also based on team tendencies/strengths/weaknesses.
