Everything. Comparing his Magnus to Super's just a few games before was a bit painful ... is Yao not good on Magnus? :/ He's actually known for his Magnus, which doesn't make this any better. I wouldn't say Xiao8 is famous for his Prophet tho. LGD did GREAT with Xiao8 mid and Yao offlane with Xiao8 controlling tempo for months now. Now they pull this shit for 4 games in a row. Because they wanted a magnus, but Xiao8 is the weaker mag on the team. Except with that draft and those lanes they could have run Mag offlane just fine. They put themselves into this position with the Furion pick, though. Which is their problem because they shouldn't draft themselves into that position. LGD doesn't work with Yao mid anymore. It worked at TI2 because the game was slower and allowed for a mid who didn't necessarily direct the tempo and made up for it with teamfight presence (e.g. Yao Invoker mid at TI2). But the game right now demands a mid who has control and directs the midgame game flow. People give LGD crap for playing 4-protects-1, but quite honestly THIS is why they don't have midgame control. Not because they're putting everything on Sylar because Sylar is playing carries with midgame presence and has excellent execution in midgame fights when he comes to them. It's because having Yao mid fundamentally puts the team on a defensive posture when Yao doesn't gank, doesn't apply pressure, and who is a player whose strength does not lie in his sense of game flow like Xiao8 is. LGD's strongest form this year came from Xiao8's mid when he played nyx and Kunkka i remember Yeah, that Kunkka and BM made me love that team. :3
...new game, time to see if iG can perform with their backs to the wall. Last fucking chance.

TC(and everybody in liquid) played great but bulba was clearly the mvp his performance in this last game might be the best one ever by a clockwerk in professional dota 2
TC for winning his lane hard and outfarming a freefarm alch up until 30 minutes or so was pretty important. Bulba makes the flashy plays but without TC Razor to followup he has no damage to kill anyone. e.g. bulba hook onto alch followed by full duration fiend's grip and alch just walks away.

That 1 game that Zenith won was the infamous no-ban strat.
Chuan consider Yamateh his mentor who taught him everything he knows about dota.
Sad they have to eliminate each other today.

I think whoever makes it through iG/zenith, Liquid has a really good chance because it's the last bo1 series of the lower bracket. Whenever I see Liquid in bo3s, they always seem to get 1 game but then lose the series. If they can take that one game as the first game then I think they can make a run for LB success. Liquid Hwaiting!!!! Should Zenith win, Liquid vs Zenith will be a weird match. A weird match. Definitely. I think Liquid could take Zenith easier than IG, but after this last match if they play in with that good of form, who knows. I've always liked Liquid especially when they picked up Korok, but after hearing about Ixmike's dad telling him to "pack his shit and come home" after going 7-7 in group stage, I want him (and Liquid) to go far just to stick it to his dad.
Is there some background to this more than "My parents don't like it" or is it a reverse psych motivation tool? )

It's not so much that LGD's picks suck. Liquid's draft was amazing against melee heroes, where you've got clock to give gyro a ton of space to dps with bane as back up, with heavily restricts any output from melee carries, even more so if there was only ONE melee carry. Clock + gyro won Liquid their ticket to G1 finals too, if anybody recalled what happened in their game versus fnatic when they were up against a RK.

GL Zenith ! Well Played by TL very proud of them never expected that!

Liquid so good, proving the West can hang with the best of the East!
HUGE HUGE respect to LGD though. Out of all Chinese teams, they brought AT LEAST 3 of the most entertaining games of the tournament. Honestly after seeing how they played in this whole event, it's going to suck not seeing them in the top 8.

There's a mis-attribution of roles here by LGD because Xiao8 is the one who has far better sense of ganking/gameflow/tempo-carrying ability, while Yao is a stronger laner and has better overall management of his own tempo and farm. So an arrangement like the one they had this game is destined for disaster. I've said this for months, and I changed my LGD fan icon over this shit. I changed it back when they started putting Xiao8 mid again, but when they come to TI3 and pull out this bullshit that clearly didn't work months ago, it's insanely frustrating for me as an LGD fan.
LGD. Just fucking put Xiao8 mid. Just do it. Even if he loses his lane, he will set up the rest of the team to win the game because he's excellent at finding opportunities from behind like that. Xiao8 getting FBed is good luck anyway. Even getting Xiao8 solo killed by s4, you guys were the closest team in the tournament to beating Alliance with Xiao8 mid.

Of course Liquid played very well, especially Bulba and the warding from their supports, but 'the best of the east'... not close.
