Alliance and Na`vi who got to pick their opponents. After they pick their opponents the seeds don't matter at all, so in this scenario, the only thing that matters is placing 1st and finishing top 4 in your group. For some reason it seems people can't get it through their heads that different tournaments have different formats and give different advantages. Which one is the correct advantage? You play a huge amount of games in group stages - 14 games. But even after going 0-14 MUFC were still in the tournament and not eliminated. And also on the flip side alliance went 14-0 and the only advantage they got was choosing LGD.CN as their opponent with everything else being even. Don't see anyone complaining about that. Let's take a look at G-1 league format. Group stages gave a HUGE advantage. You played 5 games and where you place determined where you were placed in the playoff bracket with the top seed advancing directly to the finals. Now let's translate this into playoff advantages. Winner's bracket gives a distinct advantage obviously, but being "eliminated" only gives the disadvantage of having to play an extra opponent. Which one of these were objectively most "fair"?

I am not exactly sure what you are saying so I'm sorry if i misunderstood. But the second qualifiers( i assume you mean playoffs?) put 2 in Grand Final and 14 in elimination.. Between teams in the same stage ( in this case Grand Finals) they start with the same score. Just like in previous round , teams in WB and LB all start with the same score despite varying group stage performance. The first qualifier put half of the teams into the winners' bracket(8) and half in the losers' bracket(8). The second qualifier should put half of the teams(Alliance) to winners' bracket and half(Na'Vi) to the losers' bracket. If the concept was similiar, that is. Unless you're actually suggesting that because winners' bracket teams started from 0-0 against each other and losers' bracket teams started from 0-0 against each other there were no differences between the teams that ended up in the winners' bracket and the losers' bracket, which would just be absolutely hilarious.
