K thanks! I'm excited for this team. They are one series from going to the Epicenter Lan, and have good odds of getting to the dreamleague LAN.

Whole team has been playing really well together, even the losses I've seen aren't stomps, they always seem to play pretty close, at least most of the time. And they've had some really impressive wins.

I dunno how you can make that comparison, has Synderen even had a team make it to the big stage recently?

He just started trying to come back as a pro player. He had steak gaming which didn't do well, switched from offlane to support for his new team which is playing well. We will have to wait and see.

That was the case historically though. Mouz and mtw had fairly decent results, but crumbled at big tournaments. Mad's DD and sigma too performed poorly later on.

Like before, synderen do have some good players in his team. Anyone knows anything about khezzu though?

Small thing, but I think Mouz was way more than decent. There was 1-2 months IIRC where they were considered the best in EU. Granted this was at a time when Na'Vi was either trying at all and the best, or not trying and 2-3rd best.

yapzor and khezu are both players I wouldn't be surprised to see in top teams some time in the future. From what I know khezu came from hon not that long ago, I've watched his stream quite a bit and my armchair analysis says that he has a very good attitude and work ethic. I haven't watched nodiggity games that much yet so not sure how well he has performed this far but I think he'll improve.

Hard to say that much before they get to LAN but unlike Steak at least they seem to be capable of contesting for qualifier wins.

Yea. Black fata qojqva tri core.

This team has yapzor though. I think he will become the next star #4.

Perfect move for Synd - he plays comp.dota, and when they inevitably disband he keeps his credentials as expert co-caster. Win Win for him, and all co-casters and panelists should do this from time to time, especially in off-season between majors and TIs, would make the quality of streams so much better.

Yapzor reminds me of crit on OG, bounced around a bunch of tier 2 teams, looked good on them but they never did anything.

I remember Yapzor always looking good on all the sing-sing stacks he was a part of. Khezu was a Hon pro, supposedly really good as others said. He's been playing dota for...3 months I think? And is around 7.5k mmr last I heard.

Hey, team could be the next OG. The captain, is a long time pro, never super highly regarded, who played offlane for their last team before going back to five position. Their four a guy who bounced around a bunch of teams, regarded by other pros as good before striking gold on current team. Their 3 a highly regarded former HON pro. Their carry a member of Fnatic EU.

Well best of luck to them today. They play Power Rangers for the Epicenter Lan spot. Would be their first Lan qualification.

That wildcard looks tough as hell. Fnatic is on a roll, MVP is mega scary on LAN and col is just solid in general. If they keep improving at this rate they can do it though I think.

Edit: Ooops, Newbee is in the Wildcard, not MVP. Still pretty scary, Newbee has been looking better recently.

Agreed. Just put them in the groups and the lowest team from each group doesn't make it to playoffs.

I'll happily watch the wildcard matches. If the games are good, they are good regardless of their significance to the competition. Besides, I really want to see more of No Diggity, and whether they make the cut. Exciting team.

Very cool interview, was interesting to hear about the team dynamics and such. I can't believe they played with Khezu for only 2 days before roster locks. Really working out well for them.

The wildcard qualifiers will be tough, best of luck to them!

It's always funny to me when Swedes and Danes speak english to each other. Just don't get why it's so hard for people from the mid to north Sweden to understand danish yet they can understand Norwegian perfectly. It's basically the same language just different accents. Im from the south of Sweden and to me Danish is just as easy as Norwegian.

I'm from Stockholm and I honestly can't understand a word of danish when spoken. In writing it sorta makes sense to me in the way norwegian does, but not in speech. But then I have a hard time understanding people from down south too so I might just be a stupid big city boy.

Well i"m torn, they played awesome with Tinker, and I don't want pros showing people that hero is good again, cause I fucking hate tinker.

From what I saw during work, they played very well, patient when need be, great initiations. Biggest challenge will probably be Vega. A challenge, but they've beat them before so their odds are good. So let's go, No Diggity!

They need Empire to not move on to the 2nd stage and have a good plan for Vega. Those are the two teams, unless someone goes on an unexpected tear, to get through.

But how weird would it be for Synd to be at Manila as a player. Normally the "pro player" you bring to the panel on the off-day isn't likely to be the best person on the panel. But, with Synd, it's different.

Good luck, to them.

Wow!
They are doing it
Ad Finem big unknown always unpredictable to play vs teams like that.

I thought that this is just a brilliant stunt by Synderen to refresh his credentials as pro co-caster (and be invited to more events, ask for more money) if they actually make it it's amazing news, especially for him!

Also I hope it doesn't backfire, they do way too well and we lose Synderen as a co-caster/expert.
So win qualifier, then lose group stage after tie breakers and fail to qualify for TI6 super narrowly is the perfect selfish scenario for me here. Go boys! But not too hard :D

Here you go: VOD of No Diggity vs Polarity [game 2]

I found it by doing the following:

1. Go to Joindota.com
2. Search for Polarity (or No Diggity)
3. Find the specific match and see what Twitch-channels it was broadcasted on
4. Go to the Twitch-channel
5. Add "profile/past_broadcasts" to the end of the URL - find the right video (aided by names/time stamps)

And I wish I didn't have to sleep before their match today. I'm rooting for them, they are playing great. Keep it up No Diggity!

Well, it clearly showed that the boys haven't played together for too long
They had a couple great strategies but they got figured out and it was all downhill from there.

Still enough to get a TI qualifiers invite, play some awesome games. And win or lose, who cares either way we will see Synderen in action (I hope Valve would invite him even if they take part in qualifiers!!!)

Just 2 more wins guys and you are going to TI! I believe!

Also, mods, how do I re-title this thread?

This is a disaster
Synderen won't attend TI as caster and panelist.

EDIT: I guess they can still lose now and them bomb out of the wild card (however unlikely that is since this is the strongest region) and Valve would still invite him on panels etc. since he'll be there anyway and will be by far the most competent caster and panelist regarding current meta.

Glimmer of hope still lives, let's do this boys, 2-3 loss for the fans!

well well that should've been not an easy, but well deserved 2-0 after game two, but if they keep it up I can see them 3-1 A and book the direct ticket to TI, shame for that first game really, sooo sily that you don't even need to destroy at least a lane of rax before going to t4 towers...

They played well, should of been their lead going into game 4. I still believe they can get through the wild cards. You can do it Escape, be this years MVP and CDEC!

So the wild cards will be:

Escape Gaming

coL

XCTN

and probably EHOME, they're down 2-1 and in the 4th game they're behind quite a bit in terms of gold

I think Escape should be able to beat every Wildcardteam outside of the chinese one. It's a bit difficult to tell how good Col is, but they did not look great in games outside their Region lately. Noone can really say if DC and the new/old EG are good teams.
I am hoping Escape will do it and i think they will have a pretty good chance.

Well TI is not going well, and they are going to lower bracket for sure. Based on Group B so far, they should hope for VGR or Fnatic and not be dead last which I think is doable.

What do you think the team should be doing different? Better drafts? Getting out executed? I know I saw a couple matches where they made some bad calls and got out split pushed.

I don't think they team should disband. Just getting to TI is a huge achievement. Opinions?

Right now, during TI too!

yea i agree. As a hon player/fan im a big khezu fan and i noticed when he does well they tend to win. Hes still learning i guess so im hoping this is a sign hes in good shape because he was pretty dam consistent in hon.Yapz/Qojva seem to always show up. Khezu/Synder are inconsistent at the moment. And I guess era always kind of does his job as well. gotta love yap though he always makes plays. even in his pubs streaming just makes plays all day. <3 that guy.

Theoretically every team is available right now so I'd bet that some T1 or maybe T2 team snatched him up to replace their pos 4.

It's cool to see PPD once again with the counterstrike connection sponsorships. This team has potential. Can't wait.

Lost 3 series at the Major. 0-2 vs VP & Secret, while 3-3 vs EG, but lost the lower bracket series. That's #1, 2 & 3 at the Major. A great Major run for the crew, though they really should have won against EG the second time.

NiP will probably come out 5th in their group, but ppd might be able to sneak them into Top 4.

Problem is this is the exact same team they've been all year. Parts don't really work, they need a better carry and they can never consistently keep pressure on against LAN-quality teams when they're ahead.

Well, NiP's TI9 is officially a disaster. I expect ppd will be able to engineer enough wins to get them to at least the Lower Bracket, but that's about as far as this team is going. That ESL result wasn't a fluke. This is the second TI in a row that Ace has been badly exposed, which probably means this is the last time we'll see either Ace or Fata in any team with a view at being Tier 1.

Interesting that immediately after elimination PPD tweets about leaving the team, must be he is really tilted.

Didn't have high hopes for this team, but at least i thought they would go into playoffs considering their performance throughout the season.

Considering the drama around NiP and their CS:GO-Players, it was quite obvious that he will leave the organization but this must have been the quickest departure from a team after an Elimination ever.

Well it's clear that all of them will consider other options given how this ended. It doesn't necessarily mean that some of them can't play together or some of them can't even be on NiP.

It seems possible that there is a pretty huge shuffle in the western scene. But I guess we'll have to see how teams finish first

I forgot I started this thread...wow 3 years goes by fast. Had to work a lot so didn't catch many games but I have to say this result for NIP has to be one of the most disappointing resulsts for a team at TI. People expected them to struggle but I think everything at least thought they would make it out of the group stage.

Seems like NiP has moved to NA, just saw they got direct invite to close qual.
Makes sense with that many american players, but still feel rather dirty after using easy EU qual without big teams last time.

So what do people think about the new team? I haven't had a chance to watch all the games with work and the holidays. I see they failed to qualify for the major but it looks like they qualified relatively easy for the minor. Is Chaos and EG that much better than them right now? Or was it a case of just adjusting to the new patch slower than other teams but now comfortable with patch, hence the minor qualification stomping.

i don't know about chaos, but eg makes quick work of this current team because they have aggressive heroes most of the time but lose lanes.

they barely won over jstorm in the upper bracket of the qualifiers, otherwise they fall down to face fighting pandas. they haven't faced recently, but fighting pandas picks the same heroes but throws in a little cheese for their carry.
so i don't really call it a stomping. pandas surely take 1 or 2 maps off them in a head to head series.

gunnar draws or loses the lane in close games and plays predictably, ohe hits his intial item timings and continues the trend, but the team takes a hit because of it. winning the lane means that they probably win the game depending on the hero's conditions to do so, giving skiter the breathing space to hit great timings to carry the game. i think skiter plays a bigger role in their games to be honest.
skiter has some off performances, sometimes performs well. about what you would expect of someone who can play from a range of CK to naga to void. he can play all the carries, but again, they usually lose lanes in little ways.
timely out-trades into lost CS or their opposing laners get too much and roam more effectively.

ppd continues the trend of playing easy heroes for himself, much like fly does for EG. i think other teams are more willing to be flexible even with their 5, including heroes like NP, rubick, grimstroke, and wyvern. CM has been very popular even with the small magic resist nerfs.
her crystal nova has getting restored closer to its previous strength and laning is as strong as ever.
if CM is removed or taken from the pool, i feel that NiP suffer more because of it.

universe is hit or average, and their pos 4 player is about what you would expect out of a 4 in hero pool. he would probably always be the player to use IO if it is picked for the team.

skiter out, TANNER(not from high school) in.

NiP roster change.

Have seen TANNER in the qualifiers, he played pretty damn well in most of the games. Interesting to see how he will develop under the leadership of ppd.
