Also if there is a scale for #4 supports, notail is on 1 extreme as a #4 that does shit with little to no farm. EGM/Zai would be on the other extreme in that they are very farm oriented. kky is sort of in between, but leaning towards the EGM/Zai extreme. Different support style.

Guess stability is not a valued aspect of supporting for fans. Well most of the times he dies because he is focused by the opponent to get his impact out of the team fight. For example ET magic resistance or healing/recall saves by IO etc. And if he dies ... and 3 of the other team, than it's good enough! Team fight win! But this BDNotail discussion aside I will wait for Secrets performance in the DAC before I start blaming someone ![]()

What Western supports would you rate above him in recent performance? There's a bunch of Chinese supports I'd take over him any day, but then I don't think it's a big secret that the top Chinese supports are the best in the world.

Also s4 autowins games for Secret like he did with alliance a lot of times. You can see most of that when he plays brew. I do agree notail is fucking perfect mate. (ok my pun is lame) What the hell? Fnatic was KNOWN for living on the backs of their supports for almost a fucking year man. Trixxi fed every game, hanni had (has?) a really long questionable mid streak, and Era went from having an I-Win rotation of carry options (pre-nerf wisp/ck and Naix) to being ineffectual. RE: the entire notail discussion - It was questionable to replace him because of Kuroky, but I know that's an unpopular opinion. Kuroky is a bit like the beatles - he was good, and has a history that impacted a lot, but he was GOOD not THE BEST EVER in dota1, and that overhype followed him to dota2. The reason I say that is because I don't think he was a BAD support in Navi, but he was just so-so. He needed 1-2 heroes to be considered a threat (people respect banned 1 support for him, 2-3 for notail). If TS wanted 100% their best odds for TI5, which they claim is the case on why they kicked people, it should have been Kky out, RTZ [insert offlaner] in, and keeping notail as the hard 5.

In over a decade of Dota (both I and II) there was rarely, very rarely a single player who dominated one position in the Western scene as much as Kuroky did 2008-2009. The guy was an absolute monster as carry. One of the most exciting concepts about Secret was Kuroky playing that position again and while I still think that he had a lot of potential left he did not manage to reach his former level consistently and they made the decision to utilise his versatility as player instead. Kuro leaving was never an option. It should be clear by now that Kuro+Ppy is a package deal and the back bone of Secret. They started the whole thing.

His death count is comparable to any of the supports on Newbee, VG & LGD. And what of the fact that he has the highest amount of assists per game of any player in the world as of 8.82, that's including people playing safe, mid and offlane. Was that worth no mention?

Dunno why anyone would think Kuroky wasn't/isn't an absolute top Support... Now with Notail gone and not really any comparable supports out there this actually makes all kinds of sense. (But if the trade RTZ/Zai for NoTail/Whoever is worth it in general, is another question).

N0tail makes plays without a single item while Zai is farm heavy support orientated and kuroky is some where in between,
