During the 2nd day RTZ was a bit underwhelming but overall they played really well. Draft were good, with some unorthodox picks like Pugna or TB. I hope the good streak will continue in the regionals

I think RTZ should leave Slark to Envy
But I'm really glad they figured out they should swap those two between mid/safelane fluidly based on heroes they play
They should be making it through the qualifier rather easily

Eu Qualifier is not that easy and they did struggle againat some teams in the open qualifiers. But since there are 3 spots they should make at get at least the wildcard spot.

They've always had a lot of close games, I don't think they'll be very dominant but they should advance, their play looks much more solid and drafts improved dramatically.

not to get too optimistic, but it seems like playing a bunch of officials may have been part of what the team needed. they looked so much better by the end of the bracket

e: oh and rtz looked really good in a bunch of games. lots of big kill streaks and multi-kills

I am wondering why is Secret's playstyle currently similar to what EG used to play with.

Sumail safelane and rtz mid.
Envy mid and rtz safelane.

Get what I mean?

Envy just fits that current mid meta better than rtz does. Also i think rtz is better as a safelaner than mid, at lwast currently.

RTZ is a better laner than envy so its too bad he apparently can't play #2, and has to play #1 or at least a 1.5 (like his Q-W invoker). EE's TB is a monster though holy shit.

EE's TB. I still remember the 10 winstreak he had with TB last year.

relevant.

Love how Envy can just create space for the team just by being in places he shouldnt be at and therefore creating space for Arteezy to farm more lol
Keep moving forward

This style i believe was first used by secret actually, when they had their TI5 roster. They would rotate between RTZ and S4 between mid and the safelane because S4 is just bad at farming cores like SF/Lershac etc, and S4 would play stuff like QoP in the safelane.

I don't think mid and carry switching lanes around is really that rare, there have been a lot of teams that have done it in the past. Just depends on the players and the specific heroes that are popular how much it happens.

It seems EE plays more "team oriented" mids (DK, DP, Pugna this far) while Arteezy still plays Alch mid and some heroes like Invoker&Timber that EE doesn't really play. But easier to say more after we see more variety, in the bo1 games they understandably went for pretty safe picks mostly and we started seeing other sort of stuff in the bo3s. Was also fun to see Puppey KotL. That was one of the more impressive games he played in recent times despite the early feeding

naix +slardar/BH
pho +void
io + BM
BM + disruptor

can we not run a shanghai major lineup in 6.88. This tide+wd+enigma against VP lineup had less than 10% of working.
Please first phase reasonable opening.

Secret has had weeks if not months to learn naix and/or slardar. they still can't do it........

When fng picked disruptor, and then banned jugg +naix, Secrt was so screwed.

Im not going to say that secret looks like a good team but they look like a team that could use some practise.Last time it seemed that they were not in the same page at all and they just couldnt play together. Now they seem like they could become strong if they stay together.Sad thing is if they dont qualify for ti6 i dont think they will try to become a top team and disband instead.

Don't think there's much reason to be gloomy. Secret are 4-1. I haven't caught up on all the games yet, but from what I have seen it seems like all of the players are actually looking good again and like a serious team worth respecting.

I dont think the team is any worse than liquid and OG were when they were formed a year ago.If they had a year like those teams they could reach the top.problem is the dont.they are looking like they can take even 1st place but i cant see them wining ti6 for that reason

Imo the one game they lost they got terribly outdrafted, I don't think they could have even done much playwise there.

Against Alliance and AF they got into very good starts but idk if they got a bit cocky or what, they did some rather brave dives or solo plays and ended up making the games a bit closer than they needed to be.

Against PR I already forgot what exactly went down but I believe they got into a good start, then the game became a bit closer when PR got one good pick off and rosh (unless I remember wrong), but then Secret played fine to guarantee the win.

Their spot for the playoffs is looking quite good as they played quite a few of the better teams already. Group win isn't completely in their own hands as they need VP to lose a game even if Secret wins all, but a bit early for that speculation still I suppose.

The toughest competition of TL and OG is Newbee who only formed in March and started winning straight away. I don't think the time is the issue (though obviously these qualifiers are very short notice) but rather the question is how well the lineup just fits together.
