so 1/5 players used to playing in EU, 3/5 used to playing in NA, and 1/5 used to playing in fucking china. PLD, Bulba and Qojqva have all been playing on EU servers since the post TI4 shuffle, up until...about February? PLD for longer, of course.

On the other hand, if Americas is really so easy that a team that can't realistically make it in EU/CIS is a near lock in Americas, they are only improving the level of competition at TI.
And honestly American teams need more decent teams to complete with if the region is ever going to improve.

This.
I was arguing this point. Americas will never improve if they have the same mediocre at best teams competing each year. This reminds me of the old days in NA when Liquid and EG both dominated Americas, but honestly the other teams looked and played better in qualifiers back then. Nowadays EG is directly invited to every tournament, therefore the other teams are not really improving. This is honestly why the korean region has never won or been competitive with other regions, there are no really solid and established teams (skill-wise namely).

Pretty sure teams like NoT and maybe even Void Boys could stand up to the EG/Liquid/Dignitas teams of 2012-2013, and probably even beat them consistently. People generally forget that the skill level in competitive games increases a lot year after year, even if the relative standards don't change much. You remove EG from tipping the scales, and NA doesn't look much less worse (or better) competitively than it used to in past years...just absent several organization names.
I mean, NoT is basically Revenge that has gotten significantly better. If you even put them as they are now into the TI4 America qualifiers, I think they'd be good enough to make it through.

The EG ever since sadboys could actually compete and the biggest tournaments that are stacked.

If you want na to improve, maybe they could start by have teams like NAR actually competing throughout the year instead of magically appearing near ti.

Just an obvious point here, TI is in America if you are going to get most/all of your team together to bootcamp for it it makes sense that if you have some people already living in America to bootcamp in America because the others would have to get passports and come over anyway if they qualified...

is that bone7 on the left ? i mean it's not unusual since Conrad is the one taking pictures

I dont see Qojqva on this picture. is he there with the rest of the team?
|
Well, the 4 in the picture live together so probably flew in together qojqva still lives in germany so is likely arriving in a different manner. Either before or later, either way it makes some amount of sense for him to not be in that picture.

Ban sniper... Please. They lost to Na'vi both times to sniper and now a painful game to c9. They are also like 1-4 with sniper lately.

Well TT has placed higher than Secret, LOL

In fairness, Tinker got to fight London Conspiracy.

In fairness this was TT first ever lan.

Decent performance out of TT at starladder. Placing as they did at an event with such a competitive line up isn't something to scoff at. My only concern is the relative ease of tinker's path to their finish. They really only won a single Bo3 against what most would consider a TI caliber team. They are still far from receiving a direct invite to TI. That being said, I have a feeling that they can build upon this success. I'm excited to see what they can get done in the next LAN setting.
