I don't give a fuck!!!
Navi's back!!!

Dream is over ):
I'm still not sure why they insist on ditya NP. General has played NP, and that hero can make space too with his global ganks. Game 3 was loss on Chen + FV low synergy too.
VGR were the better team though. Felt like they prepared against navi. Force navi to play a late game without an advantage, and chances are they struggle because of single core.
Overall proud of navi. Same problems persist, hopefully they work on it. One big positive for navi though is how well Dendi is playing.

Navi is finally back! Good games, but they can still improve a lot. As others are saying, it's very nice to see Dendi playing well again too.

They will need it for the Open Qualifiers gonna be brutal, best of luck to them. Still rooting for Navi!

I put them ahead of all the cis teams currently.

Actually while i dont think NaVi deserves an invite per se, the only reason for them to get one if its Valve wants to have a CIS team invited, which isnt exactly a bar reason itself
theres money to be made from CIS team, and navi playing decently well and going toe to toe against the best of China, might actually be a smart idea considering the amount of Drama, Hype and Fans NaVi can rack up.

I too don't agree on a navi invite, but if there should be a cis team, it has to be navi

well but who elso do you invite? it depends on esl one manila i guess. i personally would not invite og or alliance. they did not do very well at shanghai and starladder. problem with navi is, they seem to have figured out one style, like newbee at ti4. but when it comes to lategame, they lose, mostly because of their mid game drafts. this patch is really bad timed, because no one knows, who will still be as good after it.

If thats the case you dont invite any team, thats the problem with an invite system iver a regular qualification IMO
You throw the patch and then do qualifiers, that way you have teams that werent patch teams the old patch (cof cof og cof cof).

well i would still invite the top 4 of shanghai, that would be fair. other then that, its pretty hard to decide... yeah thats how it will be i guess, patch should come soon. funny how this time you dont know which teams to invite. before shangai, there were too many teams deserving an invite.
|
Actually in newbee's case TI4 they were not just "great" at The International unlike what happened with CDEC who wasn't that good outside TI5. Newbee was already considered like 2nd or 3rd best chinese team before TI4(effectively trading games with DK afaik) they had some chinese tournament won under their belt too and that was the time that the chinese scene was ahead of the western scene.
Navi should get the invite if it was a regional invite for CIS for sure. (good god VP is a complete mess and i don't think there's even a closely decent CIS team atm ) but they are in a backfoot if they are competing invites with Fnatic or MVP even complexity (though coL can arguably be replaced with another invitee).

If invites were now...
1. Secret 2. Eg 3. Liquid 4. Lgd 5. VGR 6. MVP/Fnatic
I think these are certain. Either one of MVP or Fnatic, as if both are invited, it would mean a random sea team or 2 qualifying too. It could be fine since its a sea tournament after all, but I'd rather not dilute my tournament.
For the next 2 spots, I'd really like col. Problem is that would also mean a random na team or 2 joining. I have also heard that ehome is currently the best Chinese team, but they haven't really competed so its debatable. Then there's navi. I take back my earlier statement about them not deserving an invite. They didn't win, but they looked the best out of the rest. They haven't really made a very strong case yet though, and other teams could still snatch it from them.
If I had my way, I would go for MVP, navi and col. I like to reward good performances in international tournaments. Fnatic have only been stomping sea tournaments, and are playing with a stand in.
For qualifiers, I would give na and sea 1 spot each, and 3 each for EU and cn. That's because no one else in cn and EU have made a good enough claim for that invite spot, so that spot gets to be fought in qualifiers. In an opposite vein, col and MVP could have done enough to make that qualifier spot into an invite. Sounds fair from this logic.

I don't really get what is going on here. I meant Main Qualifier invite, not Main Event invite. NaVi didn't played Open Qualifier in both the previous Majors, they were invited just as I meant.
If in fact you are discussing whether or not NaVi deserves a Main Qualifier invite, I don't understand how is that even up to discussion.
Edit: On a different topic, NaVi played Mirana twice, and once was played by Dendi Oo, on top of that he didn't play her mid.

I fucked up earlier and said open qualifier when I meant to say EU qualifier.
I'm glad to see Navi keep up their strong form and not let their loss yesterday tilt them at all. They played really well today.
For them getting a Main Event Invite...well I think it's possible, it all comes down to ESL Manilla. I believe Secret, Liquid, EG, MVP, Complexity, Fnatic, and VGR are all getting an invite. If the top 4 of ESL manilla are complexity, secret, complexity, fnatic, then I think Navi will get the 8th and final invite spot due to no new teams winning a major LAN before the invites, best overall form of other teams in Europe, best results over other EU contenders. I think China will get 1 invite, and have more qualifier slots so we have about the same number of Chinese teams. If they do well, then they get more invites to TI.
This is all predicting that the top 4 of ESL Manilla are the 4 teams already getting an invite. If Wings, Empire, or Ehome win, then they will get the last spot.
That's my opinion. Their fate is out of their hands for the most part.

What has fnatic really done other than stomp SEA though?

Got 5th/6th at the major. Assuming they get top 4 at Esl Manilla I think they got an invite. And next major is in SEA so I think Valve will be going with 3 SEA teams, 2 invited, one qualifier slot.
What has LGD done in your mind to get an invite?

Great to see my boys bouncing back from the SL losses

What has LGD done in your mind to get an invite? I was thinking the same, lgd really did nothing except for a 3rd place at starladder. Obviously not good enough for a invite. The only chinese team getting an invite should be vg.r They have proven themself against good EU teams. If ehome doesnt win esl, i dont see a second chinese team getting invited. But who knows what lord gaben will decide...
