They had a 5 k lead post leaning, and transitioning his lane into a yasha-> sandy-> blink/skadi build I think would have been way more consistent with the game flow. He needs BKB to deal with the kiting in my opinion he was already getting kited heavily with BKB can you imagine how bad it would of been without it. What I don't agree with however is RTZ going battlefury every game. As some of the analysts pointed out mom or even SandY into BKB could of been better for fighting. There were some good points though that came out of game three. It was really good to see Sumail and RTZ playing dota and not their heroes. This is what they need to do if they want to win big tournaments, yeah Sumail kinda went in balls deep sometimes and getting destroyed but there were good moments of unselfish play which was good to see.
Dont know to be honest.
(BKBP)= BKB piercing (BBKB)= bypassing bkb The kiting is a result of: Purge (BKBP), Disruption on target (BBKB), Windrun(BBKB), Skadi (BKBP),, Forcestaff/hurricane pike (BBKB), Berserkers callr indirectly because it disrupts trolls targeting (BKBP)
Apart from the obvious concern of the magic damage he'd receive without Bkb that leaves you with: Shackleshot, concussive shot, battle hunger slow
The bkb is not useless still and prevents him from getting bursted, this is less of a problem obviously if the build is stats heavy. I believe that the quicker acceleration with the pasha and increased capability to take part in skirmishes would have snowballed into a dominant position on the map. a bkb could still have been bought for the high ground breach.
the maim, skid slow, and movement speed he'd have with he alternative item path of course would also help him in sticking on targets
Then again: Perhaps the magic damage is simply so big that bkb is forced in any case for the midgame engagements, and then battle fury seems the prudent choice in order to maintain farm speed. Don't think its relevant for the kiting

i don't think the item choices in the series were wrong given what they knew.
mainly looking at Troll's battlefury (18-19m)BF into BKB and aeon disk in game 3.
it was a high stress situation and their farming carry was behind coming out of laning phase. if anything they were playing fast already but needed to play even faster, but being at the threat of sudden elimination from the tournament does that to you.
now that they have experience playing against shadow demon again, and the fact that you can itemize and out-play even against the poor matchup it brings, items like linkens will be given more consideration or they can use one of the many options to deny the hero of having a game.
if they skip BKB, core dies to axe call + skywrath ulti regardless of if the axe is eul'd or not. it's as simple as that. they didn't have a scouting hero in the same sense as nyx to force a fight. what are they going to do, spirit in and hope they stand in a stomp cast?
they were in the same class as their opponents and having good lanes for two of their lanes that game was a bare necessity to have a chance. i feel EG's been picking themselves very difficult heroes to play with. it's almost classical OG where one mistake is all it takes for everything to unravel.

I'll be sad if rtz's career ends up being a big "what if"

EG threw the game, that burrow mid is very questionable. Hoping that Optic secures TI invite so that the NA quals can be a lot easier (needs to also beet VGJ.S tho).
I can see the potential with the lineup, but EG needs to stop throwing the game. Props to s4/cr1t, the better players of EG.

Yes. They changed roster.

He's an extremely good hard farmer, but the "script" for dealing with him has been written by the scene. He'll always be competitive, but he simply isn't adaptable enough to win a Major where the entire scene is focused on winning.
What it means is he has to be in a team that "rides the Meta" the hardest. He'd probably be better going back to play with Puppey.

Ace is essentially a better fit 1 position farmer for Secret than him. Most likely more effective carry play nowadays too. Arteezy is in a weird place as a carry player since the most effective teams he has been is where they play around him than the other way around despite starting the 1 position midplayer shinanegans he didn't seem to be one nowadays.
I thought he would fit OG but i could be wrong. Anyways i'd rather he play with another team.

CR1T threw that second game so hard. wtf was that stun on jakiro anyways. They had vision on the other heroes on Optic and he decides to dive. So stupid and frustrating to watch!

Yeah story of this lan is, some very good moments and very bad moments. Hopefully a hardcore scrim session back in NA and grinding together should fix them in time for TI.
How they lost Game 1 was beyond me, Rtc BKB needed to be before heart again exactly like the TS game vs us the day before.
Oh well back to NA we go

dont know, how the "team" moved it look more like the call was "catch someone" and after he got dusted and blown up there was no reason to clump up and go in so hard.

For me the story of this lan is: good players alone is not enough to win at the highest level. You need the players to be on the same page and have practiced teamfight routines. I don't think it's realistic to expect a newly forged team to outperform teams that have played and practiced together for months. It will take time. Hopefully there is enough of it.

Wow that game 2... rtz made ccnc look good

During the Misery captain phase, EG never really seemed like they had a good plan for how to get to their late game. In this tournament, they haven't looked like they had a late game plan.
They'll make it through Opens without much issue, but they've got a long road ahead to get into shape to even beat Complexity.

Complexity in same boat though, their roster was out day before EG and Moo is back to position 1 from 3 and they added new offlaner who hasn't played in a pro team all season? Then Adam from coach to 5 who has only played in 1 tourney this year as well.
But i don't feel that they are a million miles away, more they play better they will be. Getting to NA fast and scrimming and getting back "on it" is prio though. Need to leave China tomorrow. Get back to NA and re adjust by Saturday to plan Scrims sunday onwards every day, 2-3 a day!
