Groups will not matter to much as it is a BO3 lower bracket anyway, but of course you get one life down there.
Also Optic have to get top 4 as well don't forget, VGT hold all the cards really, they just have to stop Optic gaining points and they are at TI. However for VGT it isn't that bad of a deal, LGD, Newbee and Vici Gaming will be at TI as they are all qualified, so the 2 Chinese spots will be easier to obtain as no one other than those two have looked any good at all. No mention of Keen for China qualifiers? Also lots of people calling Optic top NA team while VGJ.Storm also made the finals of a major just weeks back. The success of Dota teams are forgotten too soon. 1 tournament seems to wash away all the previous results that did not happen too long back.
Regarding EG, I am not too hopeful with even this roster as it will have Sumail mid. I just didn't like seeing Sumail this past month. He seems way too cocky to me to be a proper responsible and consistent mid carry. Arteezy also is a weak spot for me as he seems much weaker than top tier pos 1 players like Ramzes or Ame. Also his weird builds can sometimes lose games (fury on terrorblade). The weak links of this team are playing pos 1 & 2 which makes me very skeptic regarding their chances at TI.

Interesting interview with Misery, wasn't bashing EG directly but said they had bad atmosphere when losing and whole team got quiet. Didn't feel the team really believed in him just in the beginning, and that it's hard to be captain with Sumail and RTZ having so much power within them team. Felt he had feeling after loss that he was going to be kicked and was kind of glad i´when he did.
Will try to form new team and qualify to TI within EU, and properly wanna stick with them and build up team like Poppy and Koury did. Sounded like Saksa was in but otherwise open. Strange to think about there is real possibility that Misery might go to TI with bunch of last minutes castoffs while EG's star filled lineup might not go.

If they manage to gel in time to go through Optic and VG.S in TI qualifiers, they will definitely be serious TI contenders. All players are in their natural roles with extremely compatible playing style and farm distribution.
Starting afresh with a new roster will control the ego of EG players quite a bit. They will most likely be willing to listen to team's input at least within this short 3 months period.
Watch how Sumail is going to dumpster other teams. Toxcity has nothing to do with his ability to excel in mid.

Yeah the new roster has so much more potential than the previous one. We have players completely comfortable with their roles now and previous teammates who made it work through farm distribution/rotation(rtz/s4) and just a previously credible support duo(crit/fly).
Now only time will tell if this roster actually works just in time for qualifiers/TI and if they will not experience the same problems the previous roster did.
Though if they kept playing the same style where they kept playing inactive and farmed all day until they edge out their opponent through sheer networth that they've been doing since forever and been trying to recreate but always fails because that doesn't work anymore having other teams actually just as efficient and more proactive then this roster will still fail.

Yeah Fear kick was last minute and made sense.
Misery got kicked and was going to be Fear 5 and they had pencilled in Bulba as 3. Bulba did not want to play, so he went to find a new 3 himself. He finds S4, S4 then says he can get Fly to follow him by the sounds of it, or maybe Cr1t helped persuade Fly. Then they had the extra member and kicked Fear after that.
If S4 came on his own, Bulba would have been drafting and Fear would be 5. Instead Fly comes as well and Fear is no longer needed, that is why he got kicked.
2 Days until new roster debuts!

Sumail mid and s4 off sounds a great duo to set the pace of the game, everyone will have to step up to tier 1 tho, all of them were not performing to their own standards.

Doesn't matter what player plays what position if they don't find the synergy. They cant afford to have bad atmosphere. If you don't trust your teamates, or you think you are way better, and every loss is because of them, and fail to see your own mistakes nothing else matters.
Even if you get the 5 best players in the world each position and put them in a teamthey will fail spectacularly.
Lets hope that Sumail and RTZ have grown enough, so they can trust the experience of Fly and S4, and never question it.
We really need another good team to watch awesome dota in tournaments.
EG have the materials to be top tear again, lets hope they dont screw it up.

Will be a good test for new EG roster. High caliber opponents right off the bat.
All NA teams are in different groups like I had hoped. Hoping for NA dominance!

Think TNC also has a lot to fight for and is hardest of the "worst teams" in groups. VP looks pretty scary and they have shown no signs of taking it easy because they have qualified for TI.
Agreed that VG doesn't look scary now, but its kind of the EG of China that rooster has a lot of talent and skill, so if they get it right they can be very very good.

Even if they went 0-4 in group i would still feel confident of a decent placing from lower bracket run with more and more games they play. I am sure they have scrimmed a good 6-9 games by now as well.
