china vs china is definitely not boring .. what is this 2012
It is boring when one team crushes the other. Poor IG, getting destroyed.
it doesn't really matter if c9 made it to the grand finals
for sure VG is still too strong for c9 i doubt they'd put up a fight too .. even if this was a western vs western finals if it's one sided it still be the same

it is boring, because western fans dont have anyone to cheer for. at least thats how i feel. for china its a win win situation obviously.
you know i watch western dota mostly but i'm pretty sure chinese dota is very fun to watch
you don't even have to root for teams if that's the case just root on which draft do you like to win .. i do that alot on dota that i don't have a favorite

Didn't c9 play VG earlier? I remember game 2 misery line and bigdaddy wisp playing insane to try to keep them in the game. Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't but hard to say now.

Western fans dont cheer for chinese teams? I mean just take a loot at this forums. Its boring for you ok, but e.g. Even though I cheer for c9 I'm still invested in these finals because I'm a BurNing fan(who isnt, I bet even you are, so cheer for iG lol) and because I want iG to win because they knocked c9 out. There's plenty of reasons to cheer for chinese teams.

maybe they'd take a single game but from the looks of it i doubt they'd win a b05

well its just nothing for me, to root for any of these teams. of course the games are good, but at the end of the day its just 10 chinese guys playing each other, not even speaking our language (except iceiceice). that has nothing to do with racism, i just dont care who wins.
Interview with n0tail there. He talks about every series they played at the event.
One funny detail is how Misery and n0tail describe the drafts against iG compared to what Synderen and the rest of the panel said. I believe first game they said drafts were relatively even or slightly favoring iG, and n0tail called it one of the biggest out drafts they've had in recent times. Second game both Synderen and Godz heavily favored iG, and while both Misery and n0tail acknowledged that iG had easily better late game, c9 had the opportunity to just take all the towers and win the game, and n0tail believed that if they were to play the game again with the same drafts they would win it, but now they just did several costly mistakes.
Also it seems that c9 as a whole doesn't mind the current patch at all.
Not minding the patch is the right attitude to take atleast, you aren't going to change anything about it so you might as well play and adept to the best of your abilities. You can give feedback to icefrog while doing so, the two are not mutually exclusive.
Anyway, a solid third place and some good games, not bad at all.
What I do not undestand is why they trow last game. Draft was pure trow, NO way that draft could work. No synergy, bat and no burst damage. AP and no splash damage..... It is like there phyhological problem kick in.

When will these large e-sports organisations finally hire a sports psychologist to work with their teams? It's not like this is an isolated incident: when it comes to C9, this is a reoccurring theme. Look at their series against Secret at DAC. They lose game 2 due to a costly error (no TPs) and look completely rattled, lost and disoriented, in game 3. There are countless other examples of this happening over the last year. They lose their confidence, overthink things, doubt themselves, and don't stick to the plan; they looked like a completely different team.
I honestly think a lot of the top teams would benefit more from working on team chemistry and team mentality than on game theory and mechanics. If C9 wants to be a top contender, they need to be able to bounce back from tough losses and focus on the next game. I think Vici is the best example here. They look so calm and relaxed all the way through (maybe iceiceice is too relaxed :p).
Edit: I remember reading an interview where Envy says n0tail is the most impressive player he's ever played with in terms of emotional intelligence: how he always has a positive and optimistic outlook in every situation. I really hope he takes a bigger role in this aspect of their game. Keep up team morale. Envy in particular looks like he tilts HARD, and that's bad news when he's your captain and drafter.

One can interpret it this way, but I think there are a bunch of other sorts of examples. For example in this tournament alone c9 lost to VG 0-2, they then shortly after had to play against Alliance and TT in the lower bracket and won both series 2-0. Similarly at DAC they screwed up against BG in the upper bracket, especially in the first game, but then with backs against the wall took down EHOME and HGT.
Also with the old lineup at the Summit c9 was up 2-0 against EG in the semi finals, EG tied it at 2-2 and c9 was still able to take the last game. Or the tournament before that at Dreamleague, c9 got run over by VP 2 games in a row in a bo5, but they kept their composure and won the series 3-2. One could go on with these examples.
I mean I don't think one can deny that c9 hasn't done well in the finals. But their problem hasn't been "high pressure" games clearly, as they've made their way through to the finals numerous times and even kept their composure when they have just been beaten. I think one thing one has to take into consideration is that the teams c9 face in the finals are extremely good. When has there been a tournament where c9 got into the finals and everyone was thinking "c9 look like the favorites here based on their earlier matches"? Of course c9 has had some questionable drafts and bad plays at times, but a part one has to consider is also that maybe c9 hasn't been the best team in the tournament. If the other team in the finals is on top of their game both in drafts and their play, they will exploit whatever holes you have in your draft and play better than every other team in the tournament.
Also Misery specifically mentions in his interview that the current roster is very good at handling losses atm. n0tail as well seemed pretty level-headed about things. I would wait some more LANs to see how this new roster does. After all they've only played in 2 this far.

I dunno man, didn't you see those Beastmaster and Puck buffs? As well as an indirect buff to Zeus. Fata is gonna carry you guys even harder than usual this patch.
