has a very valid point. personally, my first impression was also 't2 is fucked, nadota is beyond rip'.

The issue I have with the way people perceive the roster lock is that a lot of people seem to have this idea that it enforces stability in the scene. I don't think it helps almost at all in that regard. The top teams are already relatively stable and if they make changes they happen at certain times in the year (after TI for example), the bottom teams change around all the time and they are still allowed to do so.

And even teams that are in the qualifiers have to ask themselves that is a guaranteed qualifier spot really a good incentive to stay together if you want to split up? Losing in these qualifiers brings you exactly zero dollars. So the qualifier spot itself brings you nothing at all, you have to believe that your team can actually win those qualifiers and make it to the big event. If you lose faith in that, then you will end up changing your lineup and going through opens.

At worst it could lead to situations where a lot of "stable" but worse teams get to the qualifier and the actual t2 teams see changes as necessary and they all are in the open qualifiers. I don't think it will get all that extreme, but anyway in theory it is possible.

I honestly don't think a roster lock helps players. Maybe it helps Valve with logistics. Maybe it helps viewers with consistency. It almost certainly hurts players by removing personal decision making with regards to their DOTA career.

Not really he just didn't read the rules properly, he thought the rosters would be locked after the frankfurt major.

tbh t2 is still fucked, I disagree with him that being after the next major solves the problems. 6 months is too much.

The longer roster lock discussion is relevant no matter what major it is after. Idk why he thinks it would be terrible for t2 teams now but it being after the spring major is alright. I suppose in the end the goal is still TI even with the majors and if there would be a lock now you would have less time to figure out your TI roster, whereas in March or whatever every team should have their TI rosters figured out. But in theory similar situations can come up even then, some team is scared to do the changes they need because they have a qualifier slot waiting for them.

EE tweets aside i do think 2 weeks is too short a transfer window, that's only enough time to have one, maybe 2, set of tryouts wich you have to commit to. I think it would be better if it were 3 weeks instead.

EE, don't be so emo. It is unfair that people are flaming the rest of Team Secret but EE taking all the blame is not rational either.

EE sama don't be mad, you guys lost because you guys got outdrafted and outplayed. Not Secret's fault for losing when you guys were not good enough. I bet you guys will kick their ass in Shanghai, good luck figuring out how to win OG by then! :D (No flaming btw, I just really want you guys to win :D)

I need to watch EE-sama's stage interview from today's Shanghai Major. When the translator girl asked him question in English and he suddenly started answering in Mandarin (?) and the translator girl couldn't translate his answer back to English (because it was supposed be vice versa) and just choked and screamed "EE SAMA!!" in Filthy Frank's voice.

From my understanding, EE was speaking Cantonese (his parents speak it, he never learned Mandarin). The translator didn't know Cantonese and just made something up

So happy for EE! This has been a long time coming. Let's hope the momentum carries through to the next major and TI.

Based on what I saw, I guess that means that the only person who can kill EE is EE.
