And it's dead on arrival. And everybody could see that. People try making new srena shooters and they are always dead on arrival.

Also, I see they put out a $100k tournament for Diabotical. I'm sure that's incredibly sustainable.

i feel like theres just too much of a generational disconnect and unfortunately for the people that wax on memories of quake i dont think theres much new appetite for arena shooters these days

But it being an AFPS I don't see it surviving. Esp. with Bethesda being the competitor and practically forcing some Quake legends to their game with exculivity clauses in the contracts, which, in turn, undermines the whole marketing aspect of Diabotical being an esports game. Also double that development cycle, it's been THAT long since 2GD announced that game.

Just get the forgotten realms games on your phone if you want a good RP experience. Baldur's gate works great. Also waiting for someone to make PUBG clone, genre is dead atm. I guess publishers don't want free billions.

Don't think it had significant overlap with PUBG demographic anyway.

The first book can be seen as a Hunger Games since you follow Paul who loses everything, stir up a rebellion and take the emperor down.

![]() Il watch it but the David Lynch version with Sting playing the harkonnen kid is the definitive version imk I'm very curious if theyl make sequels cuz I have no idea how you fit the second and third books into a conventional hollywood big budget script + Show Spoiler + not to say a 3 hour movie with a huge budget about an omniprescient worm-god living a tragic existence before eventually arranging his own assassination wouldn't be fucking awesome
