Naga is my go to hero if i want to tryhard in pub solo queqe for this patch, losing t1's takes longer, is less impactfull and the exp if behing change lets you hit that lvl 16 so much faster if you accidently find yourself in teamfight. I think im getting addicted

It's still significant, you get less gold if u're ahead and more if u're behind. XP is still much more compared to before, so the old "deathball and get towers and get behind on xp" is much less rewarding now.

Haha what split push? He can't do that anymore. It was probably the team comp, there's not much I could do against their DP-DK-Tiny-Enigma combo. Sky lost mid to DK, offlane Luna+support probably traded evenly with their safelane Tiny+support, my lane was easy against a solo DP because she was very passive in lane before 6. Things changed once Exorcism is online.
I would be more useful as a Rubick stealing Exorcism. Alas, it was a Single Draft game where my other options were Techies or Storm.

These formulas are only for assist/AoE gold: "This change only affects the extra Gold given if within an area after a kill. So the one who got the last hit would also receive standard kill bounty: 200 + (Dying Hero's Level × 9)

Can someone explain exactly how the new ranked ap thing works?
Yesterday my whole team waited like an 30 extra seconds before picking anything before I finally went ahead and did so, but when I got in I still had full gold. Shouldn't that have cost us something?

"Picking starts after a 35 second strategy period. Teams alternate picking. Whenever it is a team's turn to pick, anyone on that team can pick for themselves. Teams have up to 30 seconds to pick a hero. If the timer expires, each player that hasn't selected a hero will lose 2 gold per second. The selection will stay on this team until a hero is picked. Once a selection is made, it immediately switches to the other team to pick.
Additional Notes: Initial starting team is random, but known at the start of the strategy period. If a team has not picked and continued losing gold for more than 30 seconds, a player that hasn’t picked will be assigned a random hero and the turn will resume to the other team."

You will note that I said I was on a team which allowed the pick timer to expire, yet i had full gold after picking. Therefore, my assumption is that there is something not explained in the patch notes.

I know that you can read. The issue is reading comprehension. "If the timer expires, each player that hasn't selected a hero will lose 2 gold per second."
You had full gold because you picked a hero. The only person/people who lose gold are the people who do not pick before the time expires. So not the entire team loses gold, just the players who do not pick in time.

new PL is a early-mid game monster but pretty shitty late game start with stout->oov->treads->vanguard->diffu->diffu2->skadi and pwn everybody until the 40 minutes mark when their 4 core of AM, Sniper, Void and Kunka get their items and then there's literally nothing you can do to win (cant split push, cant man fight anymore)
so make sure you finish before 40 minutes

I picked a hero about 20 seconds into the expired timer. Since I was one of the players who "ha[d]n't selected a hero" at the time it expired, I expected to begin losing gold. I selected a hero some time afterwards. If doing so returned my money, that's useful information, but it's not in the notes.
At this point it's easier to just test next time I'm home.
