IRC chatter should remain in IRC - http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=tl.dota2

Posts that relate to topics with their own thread, such as in News, Tournaments or Strategy should go in those threads.

This.

My thought process ingame

Russian on my team - Loss
Russian on enemy team - Win
2 Russians on my team, 1 Russian on enemy team - Loss
etc...

I think I've met about 5 Russians in Dota2 who weren't actively throwing the game. >_> I just don't get why.

After having played a few hundred games on Iccup (the Russian DotA community) most Russians don't throw games. They simply have a different idea of the metagame that is often more aggressive. Which means when you get 1 Russian that counts on 4 other overly aggressive people things end up ugly. That is at least my experience.

There's a difference between being aggressive and throwing the game, I know. But engaging 1v5 after your team got wiped is just stupid, and there's no excuse for it. Not buying items at the start, because "butterfly first item" is also just stupid. Raging at your carry for not giving you any farm as CM, then using nova to lasthit so he gets nothing is retarded.

I've played around 200 games of DotA2 so far and not once have I played with ANYONE playing like that.

I've played with people who were brand spanking new to the game, who were constantly asking for help but they never did something as foolish as that--suicide missions being the exception.

I honestly have to question how low your MMR has to be to play with players that bad.

This "russians" thing is getting tiresome. I've never come across any russian speakers that act this way.

because they are constantly in low prio pool....i was there too for 1 day due to provider issues which gave me a 10min disconnect...90% of the ppl there were russians (i wonder why :D ) and it was the most horrible thing ever

I've come across more English speakers that are absolute assholes than russians. Maybe you are right and it's just the low pool.

The few Russians that I've played with were pretty good, I ended up with 2-3 of them on my team and we ended up stomping. My W/L ratio was 50% so it's not like I had good MMR either.

I don't know about that, it takes a special kind of person to whirlwind two shackled guys as they get shackled.

See two teammates with Cyrillic names, one of them instantly picks Invoker, goes mid, gets first blooded, dies 3 more times while speccing totally wrong and running around with Ghost Walk on bar 24/7, leaves game.

(After 15 minutes of the two guys spamming russian to each other.)

Just another day in solo MM for me.

I personally only play on USWest, all the other regions give me to muchd elay. And see alot of russians on that server. Why is that? Wouldn't the EU server be a better choice?

Ping oversea is better than overcontinent and russia is LONG. They might be closer to us west than to eu.

I think we were all expecting pubs to be hilariously bad when inkoker was released. I mean, Im not even a dota1 player and after doing just a little bit of research on invoker i could tell that his release was gonna make some pretty pathetic pubs.
So far most of the invokers iv seen have just picked the scariest looking spell they can find (usually meteor) and just spam it hard. sometimes they pick a second spell to use. I have yet to see someone use EMP though.
This is at very low MMR mind you.

I've actually only seen 1 bad invoker out of about 10. Most of the ones I see go with tornado/emp or cold snap. Even the bad one I played with just used tornado in a way that saved a CM from getting nuked.
