I miss the hardcarry days.
Where there are gyro, Morphling and luna picks. Or weaver. Or Sf. Or even AM.
This days well they are still picked from time to time. But heroes like DP and razor usually does more game impact in one click of a button. Even without items than the so called hard carries.
And i don't see ratdota nowadays. It was obnoxious when it happened all the time but it's fun from time to time.

You don't need fast, zippy heroes when everyone can be a fast, zippy hero for the low, low price of 2150 gold.

I could be wrong, but that was the big X factor of TI4 and its likely what caused a lot of the problems with the format. I expect it to be better next year.

Its almost like the buff of the dagger made the heroes that could move around the map without one less desirable.

I mean more convincing. That it wasn't a fluke since some teams adapt after a game.

Honestly, I don't see how the venue was a problem at all.
Also the panel was awful this year Zyori tier. Felt like a waste of time.

I think people underestimate how hard it is to work in a new venue of that size that valve has never worked in. The panels and stuff were passable. But really the reason every was bummed out was that the finals were a blow out, which happens sometimes(or all the time, seen GSL).

But they did have that fan favorite team, which always helps. I didn't watch those live, so I couldn't tell you what the X factor was. I mean, this even didn't have one huge moment like the naga, black hole turn around with rubick and jugg, but sometimes that happens. This stuff isn't scripted and you can't be sure those are going to happen.

'the play' wasn't in the grand finals at TI2 so i don't understand your argument there
|
we need 6.82 because we need Earth, Legion, Phoenix and Terrorblade at captains mode
I wouldn't mind if icefrog just change this
|
it'd actually cause some pretty big changes simply because Legion and Phoenix are really strong against deathballs, and terrorblade is a monster splitpusher
|
Wasn't TI3 like super hyped ? The event just made me a fan of dota esports and i started following the scene religiously after that.
grand finals games was a bit one-sided except game 5 though
and it had the most hated team vs the team with the most fanbase grand finals

I wouldn't mind if icefrog just change this no no no not that hero
that hero just feels like another doombringer.

The big play that I always see referenced in TI2(the NaVi turn around of the Naga sleep into Black hole combo) didn't even happen in the finals, if I remember correctly. I have never really heard anything amazing about the TI 2 finals or seen a single clip.
But since it has been 2 years, people likely have just forgotten and gotten to the point where everything was better than the current year that was a blow out. That's how it always works with professional sports.

there's big plays every year though.

It's almost as if all of plansix's arguments and points regarding Dota are quite poorly thought out and uninformed
|
ah, i didn't mean that was a minor change, but seems like to me that most people want nerfs and buffs on others heroes, but for me adding the out of CM heroes to the competitive would be enough change to make the game became more interesting to watch again

Or more importantly, did anyone complain about them afterwords? Sadly, we don't have the ability to travel back in time on LD to the era of TI2 to see what people were saying.
Well played.
