My ideal AM build would be a Vanguard>Yasha>Bfury>Manta. The early yasha is beautiful. You're fucking Anti-Mage. Vanguard/Manta gives you PLENTY of HP considering you barely take damage from spells. And Manta is a great item because it synergizes with Anti-Mage so well from the stats, the mana burning illusions, to all the other small bonuses it gives. And that build is suboptimal. There is no reason to go Bfury if you went Vanguard first. You're just delaying Manta which is a core item on him if you don't rush Bfury first. Bfury is a tool that allows you to farm at insane speeds and gives you the sustain to do it. If you're going to pick up Bfury, you pick it up first after Treads/Red boots.
I understand that it's a little sub-optimal but I always choose personal preference over reason. Besides it helps me to tower dive if necesary or to survive if I get ganked ugly.

Just curious, but what is the file size for dota 2 in its current build.

Hmm, it's kind of annoying how selecting your hero with a hotkey doesn't cancel pending spells, e.g. I'm skel king and I press 'T' for his stun, but without targeting anything, I can't cancel the red arrow by pressing '1' :\

Just out of curiosity, are they going to show enemy mana bars? It's really hard coming from from hon/lol to figure out how aggressive I can be at a glance because I can't see enemy mana bars (and when to use AM ultimate).

i play him the same, either bfury or vanguard first. also after getting bfury i get s/y for hp instead of a vanguard. what build i choose mostly depends on my early laning. if ive got a tough lane i always go vanguard first.. or at least get the ring and if it still doesnt change i get vanguard. but this is a pub build, it works good but i dont know how it would translate into a more competitive atmosphere.

I was just playing dota with friends and I saw a AM wih vanguard + radiance. He was not exactly killing everybody but he was very helpful because he disabled all then daggers.

meh, not impressed with dota 2. nothing about it currently would make me want to play it over dota 1. i was hoping it would have no leavers (i'm sure it will be implemented), which was a main reason. but right now, it's just less heroes, and graphics that will take a while to get used to ( i personally don't like it) and only -ap or -cm (which gets boring when people play the same 15 heroes every game). this is coming from a former competitive dota player.

Actually, I see your "or" now in the post I was addressing. Sorry I can't read! It's not a bad build, but you are committing heavily on Anti-Mage getting farmed. It basically ensures that the game will go late game, and that's not always a good idea especially if they picked strong midgame carry/push heroes like Sylla or Lycan. Going Vanguard/Manta always ensures good survivability AND a carry that can actually do something in the midgame. Rushing a Bfury isn't really always a good idea or optimal; just pointing that out. Yes AM gets farmed as hell, but he also is really vulnerable even past the 25-30 minute mark unless your tri-lane really dominated and let AM get every single CK for like 20 minutes. Ahh well I play AM Chinese-style... Ignore team for 30 minutes and farm! Right now without the good pushers (and I don't see Enchantress or Chen too much) there's not much pressure early on to do something so I just stick to safe lane and jungle.

T.T and then procede to rape everyone is where that continues, who needs t2 towers when you have a farmed antimage
