can't really find any really helpful videos (fp vod) for some reason... the 2009 starts out with boots first (since he has random gold) and his mid opponent is late to the lane, not really an accurate way of winning the lane :/
the beginning part is a few tips, creep pushing, and jungling, most of which you wont understand since its all in chinese. 2nd part is a pub. just keep in mind how he uses napalm, when he decides to go in, and back out with firefly (duration is important), and how he flanks for position
i havent used batrider since his new flamebreak so dunno how it works really.
fyi after batriders initial nerfs, americans (notably gdt taku) were the first to mess around with him extensively in competitive dota and was used off and on by euros. chinese didnt pick him up as a semi mainstay until way later.

its just instead of projectile, its an AoE spell... the projectile is now going through EVERYTHING instead of hitting anything it touch. Kinda like a reverse vacuum if you think of it...

Sounds like a bug to me......you can't hook or kill a cyclone. His hook should just pass through it.
I think that one of the things that really seperates Dota from LoL is Hero design.
I've played LoL pretty exstensively now and I've watched Riot come out with MANY Champions. What you begin to realize, after a while, is that every Champion released by Riot are just pigeonholed into a role and that every Champion in a certain role plays exactly the same. Ashe plays just like Tristana, Tristana plays just like Graves, Graves plays just like Caitlyn, etcetera. They all build the same items, they all have the same role in team fights, and they all go bottom lane with a support. When Riot starts building a Champion, they decide what role they want that Champion to fit in to, then they make abilities that fit into that role. They are aware of what the current metagame is and they are making Champions that fit into that metagame. This really stifles any creativity that one can have in team composition or style of play.
Icefrog and his team do an amazing job of NOT pigeonholing their Heroes into a role. Let's take the most obvious example, Windrunner: Windrunner can be played in any role, she can be played in any lane, and she can make use of a multitude of different items. Windrunner allows the team an amazing amount of flexibility and creativity. Windrunner isn't the only example either, almost every Hero in the game can fit into several different roles and can go to several different lanes. This gives the game so much more complexity, allows a it to have a constantly changing metagame, and allows actual variety in Hero builds. Just watch ONE Na'vi game and you'll understand how many different and interesting things you can do with one character.
There are many other things that separate the two games such as added mechanical difficulty (Chen, Invoker, Force Staff, juking) or faster moving Heroes (or more zoomed in camera, depending on your perspective); but I really feel like a huge part of why Dota is a more interesting and competitive game is the amazingly well designed Heroes.
