Yeah I wanted only BW and Dota2 content as well, but I guess the closest you can get to that is just hiding the SC2 forums on the left. (http://www.teamliquid.net/mytlnet/leftsidebar.php)
You can't have everything in life.
edit: There's not much BW news or events anymore, so can't you just uncheck everything under Starcraft except forums, then use the link up there to erase SC2 forums? I think that's as close as you can get to getting only BW.

HOWEVER
I did just obtain the free Valve client for the game to check out the features (I'd heard it was good) Errrr what an absoloute embarassment to Blizzard this must be. The features in that game client are mind boggling, just completely and utterly mind boggling. It makes SC2 look like an absoloute antique. Incredible, Blizzard must be completely slapping their foreheads at this point, they really must.
yes the spectating and replay functions are quite great Yes, in-client commentary is so nice to have. You can also select if you wanna follow the commentators camera or control it by yourself. I just wish that Sc2 could implement some of these features Dota2 has.
Oh they will. When it's far, far too late :/ Also these features don't really promote stuff like the GSL with the cameras, studio etc - so it's got to be some kind of compromise.

When you think of TeamLiquid you don't just think of Starcraft. You think of the integrity of the company, the quality of the content and the passion of the community. TeamLiquid is the epitome of E-Sports coverage and community. To see them expand cannot be a bad thing! TL is great because of their ethics, passion and hard work. And since TL is such a great company, I say more of a great thing is always welcome.
Welcome to TL Dota 2. I hope both TL and Dota 2 thrive from this new connection.

For me LoL is like derivation of Dota for little kids (graphics). Sorry, just feel it like that. And the fact, dota2 is still just in beta is really promising. I played original W3 mod dota quite a lot (now SCII) for fun and after i saw stream from that big valve tournament i am thinking about trying this new one. I miss cooperation, starcraft is so lonely game T_T.
As a viewer i have one problem, that im starting have with SCII aswell. Games are long and really boring at start. 40 min. game not a problem 90% times farming. Like SCII nowadays. 30 minute games, just macro than one big fight (10 secs of excitement), even comentators doesnt know what to commentate first half an hour (or repeating same forever).....

the only concern i have with the desicion to promote dota2 instead of LOL is the missed opportunity to promote a game where you dont see an asian domination. dont get me wrong, in definitely not one of those people who is "less interested in koreans" or something like that, i enjoy the highest level of competiton no matter what nation. however, there are people who are that narrow minded, and the thing is, esports is still something thats in development phase in NA/EU, and i think it would have been better for the growth of western esports to promote a game where NA/EU dont just play a minor role.
to establish esports teams who are able to attract sponsors and pay their players reasonably, you have to be successful in some why. but thats not gonna happen if you promote a game with existing premium asian teams dominating this game for years. look what riot's doing, they gonna pay salaries for players in the upcoming season. A VIDEO GAME DEVELOPER PAYING SALARIES FOR PROGAMERS. just to path the way for western esports.
i don't think that TL's decision to add dota2 will kill LOL or anything like that, TL is not significant enough, and i think there can be 2 MOBAs coexiting, especially 2 so different MOBAs (i play both), but IF i'm wrong, IF one of those games will fade away, and IF it's LOL, then it will be a lot harder and will take a lot longer to establish an esports infrastuctur like in asia.

Although China has an aura of 'holy shit invincibility' around them, you'd be wrong to say that the western scene is not very successful. There are many EU/NA only tournaments that focus on western teams that TL will be able to focus on. Sure they may not actually be 'jobs' but Western players still take Dota 2 very seriously. The divide is not quite as strong as it was in SCBW.

Didn't find anything in liquipedia either that didn't assume the reader already knows what it's all about. But there's nothing to argue about. I was only giving a piece of feedback suggesting that if they want to introduce people to the game, it would be helpful to give them an introduction. They can take it or leave it.

This is excellent news! Although I play LoL and am not really interested in trying to learn another MOBA, this is great for the dota community. I'd love to partake in the here is why dota is better than LoL debate but unfortunately for all of the trolls looking to.. well troll I just want e-sports to be successful. If dota is your game, that's awesome! I hope you have as much fun watching and playing it as I do with LoL! HOORAH TL

As a guy who played a lot of Dota back in the days I hold a lot of respect for this game and I'm really glad TL made this decision. Just like Starcraft, Dota has a huge skill gap between lower level players and the players who play seriously. This plus plenty of other things makes Dota a great e-sport to watch.
I hope Dota will continue to grow even further and I'm looking forward to seeing both communities cooperate to make e-sports even more successful than it is now.
Best of luck, comrades!

just glad its not league. thats all. even so, i'll pry keep the filter on so i don't have to see dendis face everywhere.

I'm not into any moba's at all, never played them, never quite saw the appeal. Having both tried watching LoL and Dota2, I have to say that the latter looks far more interesting and fun to me, though I can't quite point my finger at why. Either way, I'm glad TL chose Dota over LoL.

I smell riptide had something to do with this.. :D

did you see those games? do you see this tournament....do you see these viewercounts??? best decision by TL EVER... on a sidenote i greet every LoL guy who wrote the usual shit here about more viewers n stuff....500k viewers, 1mio.$....i will quote EG.Maelk here from his twitter a while ago "have fun in your last year of esports" it was dirceted towards the LoL community

Best timing ever to pick Dota 2 up. If anyone just watched Navi vs LGD he should be convinced that it was the right thing to do for TL
|
Navi just delivering an amazing storyline to the event. One team to stand up against the domination from China.

I think MOBAs are not remotely comparable to bw/sc2 in skill level and don't really like them but you can't deny their popularity so its fine if they join the site. I will immediately turn of the info on them as i can't be arsed about it though.
90% of the skill in MOBAs is teamplay imo which is not interesting to follow I think, the strategy is just not remotely as deep as in bw/sc2
