hahaha
just pulling your leg.
But seriously there is a decent number of people who were disappointed (myself included)

I agree. Blizzard should aim for people who enjoy playing the same content non stop over a few year period with the sole purpose of acquiring virtual items with which they can than kill some random computer generized monsters. Oh and if you think maybe thoe people do this because they enjoy trying out different character builds then think again.
I honestly think there is something wrong with people who spend absurd amounts of time grinding this game and building their character just to be able to grind better. Its even worse if they do it for enjoyment of killing bots that obviously after some point dont pose a challenge at all. You might have some hoarding issues or something.

D3 is the game equivalent of that movie or TV show you've seen plenty of times but after a long day you put it on because you just want to drop out. Essentially abnegation.
At least that's how I thought most people saw it, or at least should've seen it, ARPGs aren't really a challenge and they aren't super engaging like a lot of other games, at not when you've put 100+ hours in. It's repetitive and human beings like familiarity and repetition, that's actually normal human behaviour. It's essentially habit, you tune in and drop out. If I want something challenging I'll play Dark Souls, if I want something engaging and thought provoking I'll play one of many indie games, if I want to turn off my brain and bash some dudes (which is often how I feel after work) I'll play something like D3... well I would if it were on console, since becoming a software engineer my love have PC gaming has nosedived, not because I suddenly look down on games, I just really don't want to sit in front a PC when I get home any more.
I suppose I will say that when I say its habitual I don't mean that its normal to play relentlessly for 100s of hours, you could argue someone who does that is obsessive or falls somewhere on the autism spectrum. I just mean someone who logs in every now and then, plays for 30-60 minutes then does something else but still comes back fairly regularly.

anyone know whether our current paragon levels and gear will transfer over to the expansion?
it appears the crusader is a str based char so i am debating whether to play a barb to get the best lvl 63 gear so that i'll be prepared. i imagine prices will be insane when the expansion comes out on str gear.
i dont have a barb because melee chars suck so i would have to start from scratch.
edit:
The Crusader class is kind of like a walking tank, and they use Strength as their primary attribute. I think that really fits the Crusader concept, who is a zealous holy warrior wrapped in heavy armor, and wields punishing weapons (like a flail) with a massive tower shield. A lot of your Barbarian gear will be a good fit for them. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9679139138#7

Have they already addressed the issue on how they will make farming more attractive compared to flipping items on the AH?

Removing the Auction House would fix the problem it created, but that would also create new problems, like chat spam (WTS/WTB [item link]) all day long. That's definitely not ideal, either. One of the ideas driving Loot 2.0 is that players should not feel that they need to use the Auction House. We don't mind if players use it, but targeted drops, reduced trash items, better stat ranges, new Legendary effects, and the Mystic should help players feel empowered by the item hunt, and not forced to use the Auction House. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9678408959#2

Armor that focused on the resistances you were lacking and so forth, sounds really cool in combination with the loot run system.

I still can't grasp how that will make using the AH redundant? Yes, even if the loot you get is nice and useful you'll still be able to find better stuff on the AH just because there's gonna be 100000 items to choose from.
If what they're hinting is soulbound items then I guess that fixes the problem to some extent, but soulbound shit in a diablo game feels wrong. Note this is just what I assume, it would make sense that by using enchanting you make the item soulbound, else you'd have bunch of items being OP as hell on the AH.
Even with that in mind I'm not sure how it fixes the "problem" of AH. WTS/WTB system is perfectly fine imo, it adds a lot of social value to the game. You have to take your sweet time trading items, there's a whole new element to the game because of that. It might be a bit cumbersome to some but at the end of the day the easy to use AH makes item hunt meaningless.

Looks like they're keeping AH/RMAH. So... the game will still be dead to me, regardless of what they add. The economy is out of control. Any useful items people add to AH will be sold for millions of gold. And just BoP items is really boring. D2 had a really fun trade game.

Okay, I was thinking about something like increased gold tax for ingame gold sales and/or a suggested price so that players won't put in their items extremely undervalued, but this also helps a bit... I guess?

Watch the loot 2.0 video in the OP. Every time he shows a new legendary it says "Account Bound" in gray in the bottom right of the item tool tip.
