For me personally the cinematic was a bit dissapointing compared to the innitial d3 cinematics and even d2 ones. This new boss is very pale and common. It does not have anyting to stand out form the crowd. From what i have seen it can be any ghost/assasin raid boss form wow or from a f2p mmo.Very underachiveing.I usually expect from blizzard very spectacular and memorable bosses and cinematics.Diablo and azmodan were such bosses. This dude i dunno.I had to watch the video twice to even realize he had some form of ghost wings. And the very design in this cinematic is very pale.Literraly this faceless void covered by a generic grey mantle could have been done by any f2p mmo designer.Blizzard if it wants to stand out from the crowd needs some more spectacular stuff.
With stalegameplay, long defensive cooldowns, as a barbarian which is a rage mechanic class. You cant leap around because of the cooldown, pretty lame. Also every class has 1-3 abilities you must use to be able to use your other abilities, why even have resources?
About endgame, wtf were they thinking? Doing the lame story mode again for boring loot. Also, gameplay is mostly about stats T_T

How is he stupid for buying and playing a game for the purpose of a feature that was advertised to be added?
Because that feature was, for some time before launch, on the feature wishlist and nothing more.
What in the world are you talking about? Did you even remotely pay attention to the game before it came out? If you had, you'd know that they had developed the PvP mode but scrapped it before launch for various reasons. There were gameplay video previews of the PvP mode at blizzcon 2010. For a game released in 2012.
So please, educate yourself before you post.
Do you even remotely pay attention to the posts you reply to? They took out the PvP feature from the game because it sucked, and as I said, put it back on the feature wishlist. As in, they said that they were hoping to bring PvP back at a later time. This was all public for some time before launch. If you still bought the game solely for PvP, then you made a stupid decision because the game didn't have that.
And as we stated previously, regardless of when we release it, it'll be a free addition to the game.
Not if, but when, implies that they had every intention on releasing PvP, not simply pushing it back to a "wishlist". Or that they were being very dishonest about their intentions. They made it pretty clear in that blog, and others after it, that they had not given up on adding a more structured PvP to the game. I don't mind them delaying PvP to begin with; but to state that it's just in some theoretical wishlist is either total misnomer, given the information blizzard has put out there to begin with, or blizzard is lying and it really is just on the backburner and nothing more.
To be fair, the game mechanics would need to be completely revamped if the PvP was ever going to be more interesting than just deathmatching. But it wasn't exactly a far-fetched idea to purchase the game at release with the idea that they would be adding PvP into the game when they talk about the feature as if it's going to be added, in every post about it.

Is that right? Just on the feature wishlist?
That must be why we have this evidence, which was released at Blizzcon 2010. :
and this, where a PvP Matchmaking system is mentioned in the first minutes (2011):
Yes, that is right. Just on the feature wishlist: something they'd like to have in the game in the future, but presently (at game launch) did not. That's what a feature wishlist means.
At this point i think we all got obviously trolled by this respected individual.

Have you considered the idea that the feature was shit, that PvP sucked, just like in D2 and that there is not reason put in a lack luster feature if it sucks? Even if it was promised, do you want them to add it in and have it suck? Then you could complain about how the feature sucked and it was so much better in D2 instead?

Have you considered making it not suck then? Surelly you could try that in 8 years of development.
While the gameplay video and new ideas look and sound nice, that's to be expected as the marketing team would get fired otherwise.
On the otherhand, I remember my experience with Diablo 3 and why I didn't like the game (no stat or skill systems so only 1 character to make for example) and from what I've been reading most of my complaints with the game will still be there (IE that I didn't really enjoy any of the 4 acts and the areas they offer).
I will probably just watch someone LP the new content for the story and to see the paladin and that will be it.
I will admit I would kind of like to play a shield/flail character but not worth the 60$ they will charge for it.

They didn’t spend all 8 years on D3, that isn’t how development works in large studios like Blizzard. They move people around from project to project and ramp up when they are going into full production. And Blizzard said the feature was not good, which is why they stopped working on it. If they said the feature is shitty, I am willing to take their word for it. I don’t need them to strap on a feature that sucks just because people think it should be there.

I have been considering a petition to Blizzard to add a “classic mode” that removes the option to buy from the AH with that specific characters, just like hardcore. It is the best way to solve the problem, because then everyone gets what they want and its still avoids the “gray market” for items.

Buy the console version, btw it doesn't matter if they think "pvp sucked". I'd rather them put it in and just let us make what we will of it, I mean ffs in all the development period they couldn't just put in a "turn hostile" button or make it like D2 where you can create your own parties(its okay you can admit that blizzard is a complete and utter design failure when it comes to D3).

Why talk about a non-core feature to a game that is single player and co-op focused? PvP is not more a core feature to this game than it is for Borderlands or Torchlight 2. Borderlands has a dueling system and its is 100% worthless and I would not miss it if it was removed.
You care about PvP. Lots of people could give two shits. It not worth talking about, because I just summed up the whole discussion right there. We will never agree, so its not worth discussing. There are other features in this game that are interesting.

No you haven't. You just showed an opinion on diablo's pvp under your subjective preconceived notion that it must suck. To be honest, anything that has been posted about pvp in this thread about why you shouldn't talk about the lack of the feature has been pulling hairs.

that is just your subjective oppinion.Considering thousands of people want it it certainly does not suck. And if blizzard thinks they know better than thousands of customers they have a serious issue.

is the game perfect? no – far from it. is it going to be perfect when the expansion comes out? i doubt it. but i can't deny that there's progress, that the dev team is listening to the numerous complaints, and that the game is moving in the right direction. and with the expansion they're making a big step towards the community, implementing a lot of missed and suggested features. i'm looking forward to it.
Do you think the game should be this bad when they have the Diablo history within their own franchise not to mention other ARPGs out their on the market for the last 5 years? Oh, and I'm talking about after all the "improvements." Who cares how concerned Josh Mosqueira is? They still haven't fixed the tons of stuff the community managers and developers have said they are aware of. If you just want someone to pat you on the head and say "it'll be alright," then I guess you're in good company. If you want results, how much more time and money do you want to invest in hopes of getting what you want out of the game? I know my answer, but I'm very interested to hear yours.

Lol you sound like those guys on star wars the old republic, "pvp is stupid, its not the main focus, we'd never miss it if it was gone." Guess what, other paying customers do, I could give 2 fucks about ubers, but it was added and you don't hear me constantly talking about how fucking stupid it is to play a re-colored boss fight.

As I said, some people want it, others do not care. No on knows who the majority is. People keep bringing it up for some reason, but there isn’t a lot to talk about. PvP will either show up or it won’t. I will still buy this expansion regardless, because I don’t are about PvP. If I want competitive multiplayer, I will play Dota 2 or some other game.

You care about PvP ok that is cool. but we are circling around. Discussion have been done. Move on.

D3 PvP could or could not be shitty. We don't know. It's not there. They did it will. It's not. Ok. End of discussion.
