I will say, having watched the content, - I am very excited!
I really look forward to the direction the new director and crew are taking the game, really, really love the sound of the Crusader, the new loot system, and ESPECIALLY the new loot run dungeons. That is an idea I have ALWAYS wanted in Diablo.
It really feels, especially with the new Paragon system, that I could sink hundreds more hours into the game. The fact that I could spend some of my points on a low level toon and make a tweaker to screw around with, or spend them on my higher tier characters - lots of possibilities for stat builds now.

Oh no, not this shit again. NO BLIZZARD, i will not be tricked into buying this game. You killed Diablo just like you killed WoW with Cata and Panda Express.

that was made for blizzard games You just misunderstood D3. The whole PC thing was a payed Beta test so that the game is good when it is released on the systems where it is meant to be played. Nothing wrong with it if you look it this way, we just did not read the Terms of Use where it is pointed out. And well we all did not read the terms of use but it could be much worse

That's the worst thing they could ever do. Improvement with an expansion is the best thing they could do. I'm hoping for other improvements then what they said, and I'll buy it. I have all their other games, and I'm still a Diablo fan, even though they need better scriptwriters--me for instance. I don't care for PvP. I never buy a Diablo game for PvP so it makes no difference there. The expansion looks cool. Always a fan of Blizzard's cinematics and art style. Edit:I'd like ladder though. That was my favorite part of D2. New ladder day rush was so much fun. Yeah, PvP means nothing for me. I just want new classes and crazy loot. I want the craziest of loots out there.

Everytime there was a ladder reset my friends from highschool (like 5 years back) would message me on facebook and ask if I wanna play with them again. And we fucking did it, and it was the best weeks ever. Nothing feels better than starting completely fresh with a heavy dose of nostalgia of the old days.
Is there a good reason why Blizzard just doesnt implement a Ladder season.

pk/pvp was everything for me and main reason why i skipped on d3. even if they did introduce it i believe the days of lvl 50 amazon twinks beating lvl 80s or joining random room to pk is over; i assume d3 will be a strict arena pvp.

Money.
More specifically, the money people spend to buy things on the RMAH.
New season = old weapons and gear no in new ladder = people mad cause the gear they spent money on is no longer relevant.
Moment new ladder were to come in, the shit-storm from the people who actually bought stuff on there would be huge.

Plenty of people bought stuff off sites early on in the ladder season to get ahead on the ladder so i call shenanigans. You just buy new stuff if u wanna play on ladder otherwise you can still play your non ladder char.. (not that i ever had any money to do that sort of thing but i certainly knew plenty that did)
edit: just to be clear im referencing d2 not d3.

You're referencing D2, when Blizzard didn't have an in-built feature to buy and sell things. No one could get mad at Blizzard, because they didn't facilitate or support the act of buying and selling in-game equipment.
They do now, so you can sure as hell bet there will be people upset about it. The two aren't even comparable in this regards tbh. Massively different scenarios.

i really dont get why would people want their items to be removed and start from zero with a ladder reset.
About the expac, it looks great

It doesn't appeal to me neither as a self-found player since I lose all the cool things I've found, but I assume its more for the auction-house players.

is this item 2.0 system only coming to the expansion? what happened to it being a patch for vanilla d3?
|
Its clear that there are big name developers at Blizzard who are very sure of their ways and do not want to see the other side. Looking at the social aspects of both SC2 and Diablo 3, its clear that there is an underlying philosophy as to how players should interact. Someone high up at Blizzard CLEARLY holds this toxic view and refuses to admit they were wrong. Its a damn shame. This person is single handedly ruining the reputation Blizzard once had.
They had a chance with this expansion to change the way lobbies and chat channels worked. They chose not to. They aren't going to listen as long as this person or these people are involved.

It will also happen to vanilla d3, along with a couple other features.
On August 22 2013 08:41 cdpham wrote:From Blizz regarding what you will get if you just have regular D3: Show nested quote +We want to implement a lot of the new systems and features in a pre-expansion patch for free. That should include Paragon 2.0, Loot 2.0, Loot Runs, and Nephalem Trials. For now, you'll need to purchase the expansion to play as the Crusader, explore Act V, unlock the Mystic, and level up to 70. These details may change as development moves along, but we want some of the core gameplay improvements to be available for everyone. Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9679139107#19

You wouldn't lose the items. They'd just go to non-ladder... If you don't care you just play non-ladder. A lot of people did that in Diablo 2. I don't really think it impacts your experience negatively, and just adds to the experience for those who care.
I would think the only issue is the 'dividing' of the player bases, but honestly in Diablo 2 that wasn't even an issue... I think players should be able to play how they want, and I don't see it hurting anyone.

All this sort of stuff should've been in D3 from the start. Quite a bit of this stuff was already in previous ARPG games.
Feels like they're only catching up rather than innovating, which is a shame.

Very cool cinematic. But I'm worried that a lot of the kids that play these games will grow up to murder someone because of all the killing and soul-sucking.

I understand not liking the game, thinking it's a disaster, thinking it's a ravaging of the old series, or whatever other overly dramatic description you can think of.
But the game didn't make false promises, it had a really rough launch but later on worked fine, and was overall a fine game. I know I enjoyed a good 60-100 hours on it, and don't regret my purchase at all (And this is from someone who played D1-D2 for years upon years).
I will probably enjoy this expansion quite a bit as well. Certainly not GOTY material or whatever, but still fun.
I do think AH is a massive blow to the game in general, but I chose not to pay any attention to it.
