People love to rip Blizzard a new one whenever they get the chance (and let's be honest there, Blizzard deserve a lot of the shit they get, no question about it) but then continue to buy their games anyway. So much for voting with your wallet lol.

That's the worst thing they could ever do. Improvement with an expansion is the best thing they could do. I'm hoping for other improvements then what they said, and I'll buy it. I have all their other games, and I'm still a Diablo fan, even though they need better scriptwriters--me for instance. I don't care for PvP. I never buy a Diablo game for PvP so it makes no difference there. The expansion looks cool. Always a fan of Blizzard's cinematics and art style. Edit:I'd like ladder though. That was my favorite part of D2. New ladder day rush was so much fun.

Thematically, Act 1 and Act 5 are the same region (neighboring countries) of the world. However, so far Act 5 looks to take place more inside cities / urban environments rather than the country side / Cathedral (also Leoric's fun house). There are only so many variations on medieval gothic you can have, but so far they look different to me. That's not to say that it won't end up being "Lut Gholeim and Caldeum are totally different! Really!" once you get past the introductory area though.

Thats at least 200 hours of playing. D3 is far from being perfect and far from being what d3 should have been but its is still a decent game.

I dunno, I just swear the "town" had the same tilesets as some of Wortham and Tristram, and the dungeons looked like the Prison and Cathedral tileset.

Blizzard receives so much shit, but, although I was partly dissapointed with D3 as well, I have to admit it still ended up paying off for me if I consider the amount of hours of gameplay it gave me. It's still a relatively good game, even if it didn't live up to the expectations most of us had for it. I mean i guess you could compare it like that, i did dump a few hundred hours into it so i got my money out of it.. however d2 i dropped thousands.. whole diff beast ya know? d3 kept me entertained for awhile, d2 kept me entertained for years between softcore/softcore ladder then hc/hc ladder then when i finally got tired of losing hc chars i installed all the diff mods (some fun as hell ones still out their, wish people could somehow port them to d3!)

And then there's all the user made mods for torchlight 2, has anyone tried out the synergies mod? It's insanely fun, and the sheer amount of content and new features is impossible for blizzard to match. I'll probably play through the d3 expansion a few times, but the majority of my time playing this genre will be with other games.

I could be fooled by the different color-palate (blue instead of brown =p). But my memory of Wortham and Tristram are wooden structures around unpaved roads. The game play video so far is stone / mortar buildings with paved streets. Of course it's also outdoors instead of indoors, so it might have fooled me if they reused the Prison/Cathedral and changed the lightning textures (or whatever the technical term is), but I don't think so. I did notice some doodads and stuff were reused (like Lamposts, other destructible objects), despite destructibles being unique / act in the original game.
