Man, fuck alcohol. Or rather the after effect of it. My head was so messed up after last night's bing that all I could do was stare at Azmodan's fire ball as it drew nearer and nearer, and my only thought was "what the fuck is that". I can liken the experience to having the sun fall out of the sky. I was just standing there completely mesmerised, mouth wide agape. Then it hit me. Took me a couple of seconds to realise that I had been one-shot. God damn.

The price of gold has actually been pretty stable for the last month, sitting between $65-$75 per billion so now isn't a bad time to stock-pile some gold in your reserves. That gold is going to skyrocket in price when the expansion comes out to probably $100+ per billion.
Those gold prices are pretty nice o_O EU gold sells for ~30E per bil as of now.

Got my account hacked recently by some idiot jerks. Secured and got back everything (they tried to sell some of my hardcore stuff) but the retards had a friend request to my account still pending. Here is the douchebag: Kupik#2603. He has a single character on the account, a paragon 100 and constantly does the same zone all day and every day by himself. This is 99.99% one of the accounts of the persons that hacks people's Blizzard account. I have sent a "report for botting" to Blizzard on him already. Would appreciate it if you all did it too  .

Ya I use to just throw up a post on JSP and get replies quickly. JSP is hella dead now tho compared to what it was a month+ ago...

Funny thing is... I never lost more than 1/3 of my life in 80 hours of playtime, and I survived to countless lag spikes and 2 DC as well.

Well guys. Be really careful when you get back into the game. Over the course of last week, I lost my main (DH P56, 180k dps +) to a brain fart, my CM/WW wizz (P25, 60k dps, 2,16 iAS) to a FUCKIN pk'er (be careful of Shilda) and my WW Barb (p27, 100 k dps buffed) to a lag spike.
If you total the play time of these 3 characters, that's 325 hours , more or less half of my time playing d3...
I gotta admit, I almost uninstalled... Lucky I had a mate to power me up to lvl 60 again and now i'm on a Paragon 17 Monk, shredding mp1 (wow hellfire ring + mp1 + 4 players in group bonus works well!)...

Which is the fastest non-whirldwind character to get into HC with?
Obviously without having a lot of gold to start with?
I just want to farm a little Paragon-EP until the expansion comes out and I don't have time to play more than a couple of hours per week.

What do you mean by fastest? Fastest to lvl to 60? fastest to gear?

Fastest overall to farm Paragon to prepare for the expansion.
My goal is to get to level 60+50 until the expo is out.

I think the safest way to get lvl60 and then do Inferno with low-budget gears is to do it with a monk.

If you only want to play a couple of hours per week then you should choose a safe class. Go WD.

Witch Doctor is hands-down the best overall class. Certain classes might be better in a specific area but overall WD is by far the best and its not even really very close... (I've played all classes to Paragon level 20 and gg geared all 6)

Witch Doctor has extremely high 'actual' DPS with Bears or Bats. They have the best escape from bad situations (Spirit Walk). They have the best '2nd life' (Spirit Vessel), which is VERY important in Hardcore, as WD u basically get a free death every 90 seconds.
With Soul Harvest they can top 300k DPS easier than any other class and Soul Harvest helps their All Res as well. I would say Whirlwind Barbarian is up there with WD but WW Barb is a pain the ass to play (dumping Fury constantly, having to be hitting things constantly etc) and WW Barb has the rubber-band issues and no second-life free death ability.

absolutely agree with everything here.
....and wds are the safest and easiest class to lvl up, which might also be a factor for hc.
i can safely and efficiently farm mp7 with my 69k dps wd.
but that people still think acid rain is the standard build for wds shows how unknown and underground the class still is, at least when compared to its huge potential.
the only disadvantage of wds is that spirit walk is both their cc breaker, escape skill and movement speed enhancer. most hairy situations ive been in with my wd involved me using spirit walk for speedup, then bumping into a dangerous pack with spirit walk on a long cooldown. so compared to sc, playing a wd safely requires more discipline.
