i been doing act 2 goblin runs all day, just get some decent mf gear, and you are almost always garantee'd 2 gold drops. thats without any NV buff.
Had some pretty nice items so far.

Hmm not a bad idea. Azmo is free loot, cydaea is retarded now, lol.

No idea what's the difference between old and new cydaea? Maybe it's harder for ranged classes?

A lot more spiders running faster.

and attack animation is instant, so if you're in range, you're hit, whereas before you had time to get out of range, and finally, their AI causes them to clump a lot less, making AoE attacks not as effective.

I rather like this change....so much for some bitch taunting you for half an hour straight and dying in 5 seconds.

Kind of curious where everyone starts out when farming act 1. I start at the Khaza barricade and explore the overworld parts for extra dungeons. The recent run I recorded how much gold I make selling the bad items and it's 135k gold and a little over an hour time. This was done with 40 GF and 86 MF, I have more MF gear but don't want to gib myself too much.
|
Whats Khaza barricade ? I do cemetery, around 50% there is a rare right at the wp. Then the 3 rares in the crypts. Then festering woods wp. There are 2 potential very short dungeons with also a rare and right at the wp sometimes also a rare. Then I go just halls of agony 1 and clear through the butcher. I round it up with pony cause its very easy for wizard and my act 1 spec.

Khaza barricade is the part right after the spider caves where you need to find the staff to get through gates that the Khaza/goatmen control. I don't have access to Inferno pony level, but surprised to hear character that are farming act 1 can do the pony level.

The mobs in the pony level are very easy to kite.

Well I suppose the real question is why would someone use their act 1 inferno character to farm the pony level when they have a character that went all the way to diablo to get the inferno upgrade for the staff of herding or why would they farm any part of Act 1 besides the pony level. My original discussion was for those trying to prepare to clear act 2 so pony level is not really an option unless there is a way to get the plans with a friend's help or something.

The pony level monsters are significantly easier than the mobs in act 3/4 while dropping the same loot. They might have more health, but they have a lack of base abilities and crazy attacks. Plus, the architecture of the level makes it fairly easy to kite things.

Well it's fairly easy to "suicide" or body hop through the entire game to just kill the end bosses. Obviously this wouldn't be viable for farming, but it is possible to get to the end game without being geared for it.
Alternately, it is fairly easy to bypass any part of the game by creating a public game on Hell (say at Diablo). Leave the game and you can join a public game at inferno. Leave again so you can resume a solo game. I have played every part of the game in inferno and never even beaten the first part of Act 2. You farm act 1 because you want to get five stacks of NV before you start. A butcher run is perfect for this.
You could get somebody else to open it for you though if any of your friends have the inferno staff.
There is also the fact that act 2 is harder than act 3. I could easily clear five stack siegebreaker before I could survive five minutes in act 2. The mobs in act 2 are simply annoying are retarded. Act 3 is hard, but almost everything is dodgable by moving. In act 2 you get leaping mobs, dragonflies that shoot a thousand missiles, fast tiny things, invulnerable snakes, etc etc...

any of you guys that want to farm ponies add me, terranasaur#1719 i can't quite kill the level by myself but its pretty easy with a good tank.

There is no point in farming anywhere after Act 1 at the moment, since the drop rates in A3/4 were nerfed. There was a Bashiok post somewhere about how they're going to fix it, but everyone's farming A1 these days.

is the bugged ilvl63 loot in act3/4 already fixed?

Doing Act1 runs atm...
I start by choosing Q9-2; - Check for watchtower in northern highlands, restart until I find it
Then in whatever order: - Cemetary of the Forsaken, kill 1-2 packs in each crypt -> The Weeping Hollow (area before the Cemetary), about 2-3 packs here+the chance of a dungeon - Cathedral level 3, check for a pack near the WP - Festering Woods, 2-3 Packs + one in each dungeon - Leorics Manor, go back outside, there's always a pack there, maybe even one inside
Then finish off by doing the warden/butcher run
takes me about 20-30minutes, that's what I got out of it in my last run, 0% MF

Same run as me Got it from a d2jsp post haha before I was just running festering->halls->butcher
Why restart if no watchtower though? I never got that part.

Thanks for sharing that A1 run guys, I went through it and it worked out pretty well. Found some vit/int/AR pants worth ~450k so not a complete waste of time!
