Dex increase your damage by 1%base weapon damage*(+aspd)*(1+critchance*crit damage) per point It's not factored into weapon damage because the damage on it depends on other things as well. My general rule of thumb is each point of dex = .5-1 dps on the weapon stat sheet. | ||

![[image loading]](http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/9979/weaponw.jpg) i use this screenshot to quickly check what kind of dps to expect when purchasing a new weapon, for reference, my dex was around 1.4k. generally if you have around 1.4k - 1.8k dex you can probably add the dex provided by the weapon into dps numbers and get a pretty rough but accurate gauge of how much damage you are getting. a 1k weapon (left side) with about 257 dex gives me roughly the same dps as a 1.2k damage weapon however if you are already running 2k+ dex, you gains from dex are lesser and its wiser to focus on getting a higher dps. alternatively, try using this site lol http://www.diablodamagecalculator.com/ | ||

I was hoping to draw on the experience of TL to try and help me make some decisions. Firstly, I've just beaten The Butcher in Act 1 Inferno(2-3 deaths) and I'm looking to upgrade my gear/skill setup so that I'm not insta-gibbed against the wasps in the first part of Act 2. I've uploaded my gear, skills and stats and I was hoping to draw upon your expertise in trying to spend the meager 900k that I have to upgrade some of my gear so that I can farm the butcher more efficiently. I realize that this is a tight budget but unfortunately I don't get to play all that much due to work and other commitments. Thanks for all of your help and I would appreciate a list of the top three suckiest items I have and what I should look for in their replacements. And if you're feeling super helpful, prices with stat ranges of the items that I should look for. PS. I'm a little against stacking IAS at this point because I don't want to stack it and then have it nerfed and it's value drop like a rock. Tried heart of sin again, everything so easy but the blues rape me.. I can't even hurt them before dying. More resist needed i guess I feel like i've actually gotten worse since changing my neck and helm.. like I can't even farm siegebreaker anymore. Maybe due to tyrones nerf though | ||

right now i'm poor with gear that is mostly worth sub20k. main stats i have right now are: LOH : 332 dps : 7k Armor : 4.6k Resists : 400 all AS : 1.72 Dex: 1k Vit : 630 HP : 2.5k question 1 : what should i gear for right now? i'm assuming dps. however in act 2 i'm just getting absolutely obliterated by everything question 2 : how should i go about getting more money and better gear. 5 neph butcher runs? | ||

Very simple get ur dmg up. Try to get to 12k to 16k using IAS rings; amulet. Ur armor is kind of low aswell More resist would be nice. For farming u might want to try golbin farm at act 2. Else stick with butcher/ warden butcher run. | ||

Geared monks aren't fun to play because it is almost impossible to die. To stay interested i had to just sell everything and switch to hardcore, where the gear is shit and I have no gold  . | ||

I suggest you sell your (pretty good) weapon for a lot and invest in one with about the same dps but way higher AS with no life on hit. You could also try to get overal higher resists and stats on your chest/pants. Also a shield with lower block but 100+ all res would serve you better until your mitigation is high enough to enjoy the high block rate (it's better to take less dmg all the time than to take 3.5-4.5 less dmg 6% of the time). It's a really nice shield you have that would prob sell for a fair bit, but I would exchange until you have 900+ resists and 6k+ armor. | ||
